November has rolled in and I know we are all looking forward to some meaningful time with our Aggies during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. As your students finish out this first semester of the 2017-2018 school year, be intentional in encouraging and supporting them as they go into finals. This time of year always brings to mind a time to be thankful. I m thankful for our Aggie Moms and our Aggies. I m so thankful for the Ring of Honor, returning, and new members represented in this membership total. It is not too late to join if you have not yet paid your dues. Every member makes us that much stronger in our abilities to support Texas A&M. Great news our pecans have been delivered and are all bagged and ready for pick up! Special thanks to Becky Bird and Tracey Koerner for coordinating our pecan fundraiser this year and our appreciation also goes out to all who generously gave of their time and energy to get the packaging completed so efficiently. Volume 34 / Issue 3 November 2017 Pecan Fund Raising Update Thank you to everyone who helped make the Pecan Fundraiser a success! Last weekend we unloaded the truck, bagged the pecans, filled the orders, distributed them, and sold extras. Our great volunteers made the busy weekend run smoothly. We also appreciate everyone who sold pecans! We met Edie Slape and she shared how she started the Pecan Fundraiser in 1988. Thank you Edie! If you would like to buy any of our extra inventory, please contact the CCAM Pecan team at ccampecans@gmail.com. Becky Bird and Sonya Chase ready for their road trip to pick up approximately 4,000 pounds of pecans! Aggie Moms Connecting Aggie Moms Getting Creative! Aggie Connecting Moms got creative on October 24 at Prosper High School. Art teacher, Judy Seay opened her art classroom to the Collin County Aggie Moms. Aggie moms painted on 20 plates using templates designed for Texas A&M. Several of the honors art students helped each of the moms design their very own personalized A&M plates. Kendra Scott Gives Back We held a Kendra Scott Gives Back night at Kendra Scott located at the Shops of Legacy on Tuesday, November 14. Several Collin County Aggie Moms and gracious patrons to Kendra Scott did a little shopping and helped raise money for Aggie Scholarships. Page 3

Pumpkin Bread 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon ground cloves 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 cups ( or less) sugar 1-1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, softened 2 large eggs 1 15-ounce can 100% pure pumpkin Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Generously grease two 8 ½ x 4 ½ loaf pans with butter and dust with flour (or use a baking spray with flour). Combine flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and spices in a bowl; use a whisk to mix well and set aside. In large bowl of an electric mixer, at medium speed, beat butter and sugar until just blended. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Continue beating until very light and fluffy, a few minutes. Beat in pumpkin. The mixture might look grainy and curdled at this point that's ok. At low speed, beat in flour mixture until well combined. Turn batter into prepared pans, dividing evenly, and bake for 65 75 minutes, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Let loaves cool in pan about 10 minutes, then turn out on wire rack to cool completely. Page 6
