Regards, Anne McKelvie Youth Cup Convenor Netball Scotland would like to thank you for entering the 2011-12 Scottish Youth Cup Competition. You may not know it just yet, but there has never been a more exciting time for you and your club to be involved in Scottish netball. Not only should your girls be aspiring to follow in the footsteps of our very own Scottish Thistles, as they work tirelessly to climb the world rankings ladder, but should also be looking to our recently selected Under 21 National team for inspiration. The Under 21 squad will take to court in the summer of 2013 here on home soil, competing in the 2013 World Youth Championships being hosted in Glasgow. What a fantastic warm up for all of our netball fans out there to prepare themselves for the Commonwealth Games in 2014!! I am sure you will agree, it is all go and we love it. Not only are the next few years going to provide fantastic opportunities for our netballing stars, but also for our Coaches, Umpires, Match Officials, Volunteers and of course, our outstanding supporters. It is imperative that we, as Scottish netball enthusiasts, engage as many of the other netball fanatics out there, and work together to make the most of the upcoming opportunities to really cement Scotland s position on the netball map. In a way, this has already begun. The 2011-12 Scottish Youth Cup has yet again seen an increase in the number of clubs entering into the competition, as well as the number of teams from clubs. Netball Scotland are thrilled to welcome new entries from the West Lothian Wildcats the first ever West Lothian entry Bridge of Earn Netball Club, another Perth & Kinross contender, as well as two new club entries from the ever developing Scottish Borders Berwickshire and Hawick. Here at Netball Scotland we look forward to following your progress over the coming months, and to seeing some of you at the 2012 National Finals Day. Best of luck to everyone. Kind regards, Gillian Stewart (Netball Scotland - Membership and Competitions Development Officer) 3
