ITINERARY DAY 1: USA COSTA RICA Fly overnight to Costa Rica. DAY 2: COSTA RICA Fly to Costa Rica. Your Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport upon arrival and remain with your group for the duration of your trip. Transfer by private motor coach to meet your host family in Alajuela. While living with a host family, you will be fully immersed in the Spanish language and the Costa Rican lifestyle. You will eat local dishes (at the standard Costa Rican meal times), meet local people and have an excellent opportunity to practice your Spanish in real-life situations. After, enjoy a guided walking city tour of San Jose. See some of the most popular attractions such as La Plaza de la Cultura (the Main Square and Focal point) and La Plaza de la Democracia (the famous flea market); practice your Spanish by bargaining with the local vendors. Dinner and night accommodation with your host family. DAY 3: GUAYABO NATIONAL PARK Enjoy breakfast with your host family. This morning partake in 3 hours of Spanish classes! Return to your host family for lunch. Later, visit the Monumento Guayabo National Park. The site is of great archeological and cultural importance. It covers 540 acres (218 ha) and is located on the forested southern slope of Turrialba Volcano. The settlement was occupied between 1000 BC and 1400 AD after which it was mysteriously abandoned. Guayabo is believed to be an important cultural, political and religious center. The site contains a wide array of stone paved streets, round platforms which were the base for wooden structures, aqueducts, ponds, carved stone designs and drawings of animals. Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 4: DOKA COFFEE VISIT Breakfast with your host family. Head to your school to attend your Spanish classes. Return to your host family for lunch. This afternoon, visit Doka Coffee Plantation and learn about the production and history of the coffee bean in Costa Rica. Breathe in the aroma of freshly roasted Arabica coffee beans as the production cycle from seed to roasting plant comes alive before your eyes. Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.
ITINERARY DAY 5: LA PAZ Breakfast with your host family. Head to your school to attend your Spanish classes. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Next, take a tour of La Paz Waterfalls. As you wander the trails, you will be amazed by the five waterfalls that line the trail. Stop by the Hummingbird Garden, the Serpentarium, the Frog Exhibit, the Tica House, and the Trout Lake! Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation. DAY 6: LA FORTUNA WATERFALL ZIP LINE After breakfast, say a fond hasta luego to your host family. Board your motor coach and visit La Fortuna Waterfall, located in the Arenal Volcano Park where there is an annual rainfall of more than 244 cubic inches and temperatures between 64 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Lunch in a local restaurant. Next, fly across the rain forest canopy via one of the most exhilarating forms of jungle transportation, the Zip line! Dinner and night accommodation at La Pradera Hotel (or similar). DAY 7: JACO After breakfast at your hotel, board a private motor coach and head for a day in Jaco. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Experience a Crocodile Safari Tour - Board your river boat and cruise down the Tárcoles River, home to the world s largest crocodile population. See these amazing animals in their natural habitat amongst the mangrove ecosystem. Dinner and night accommodation at Bejuco Hotel (or similar). DAY 8: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK After breakfast at your hotel, head out to explore Costa Rica s most biologically diverse national park, the Manuel Antonio National Park and spend the entire day exploring. Although it is Costa Rica s smallest national park, the breathtaking beauty and diversity of wildlife is unparalleled. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer by private motor coach to Alajuela. Dinner and night accommodation at Rancho Lodge Hotel (or similar). PASO ROBES ENROLLMENT INSTRUCTIONS Enrolling for this trip is as easy as going to https://enrollment.forumlanguageexperience.com/immersion/paso-robles/ The enrollment process will take you about 10-15 minutes. During, you will be asked to provide contact information, a valid passport number, and method of payment. If you do not have a passport yet, don t worry you will still be able to enroll. However, we advise you to apply for your passport as soon you finish enrolling for your trip. Forum Language Experience has purchased the Student Protection Plan from Travel Insured International on behalf of all participants. If you would like to purchase the optional Cancel For Any Reason benefit, you must choose it at the time of enrollment, and the additional fee MUST be included with your first trip deposit. The total cost for this upgrade is $30.38. After you have enrolled and your payment has been made, you will receive an email with a username and password to access your Traveler web account.
