Nine Mile Point Site Policies and Standards Security: Personnel will be required to present a valid picture identification (ex. driver's license) to Security prior to entry into the Protected Area. IMPORTANT: Prior to your arrival at the station, you MUST make arrangements through your NMPNS Site Contact/Sponsor to ensure that your name is on the Security Visitor Access List (for the intended date of arrival) to obtain authorized access to the site. If prior arrangements are not made, your access may be denied or at a minimum be delayed. This must be arranged for each day that you require access to the site. Photographic Equipment: Communications devices with photographic capabilities are allowed in Protected/Vital Areas. Although these devices may be brought into the Protected/Vital Area, using them to take photographs is strictly prohibited. Personnel observed taking photos using cameras contained within cell phones are subject to having the equipment confiscated by Security and disciplinary action. Safety Requirements: All visitors are expected to adhere to all company safety rules so they will not endanger themselves or others. Ensure your site contact provides you with the appropriate safety information. Any work on plant equipment requires a pre-job brief. Appropriate personal protective equipment shall be worn as guided by the Industrial Safety Manual. Site Dining Facilities: There is a full-service site cafeteria located inside the Protected Area. There are also nearby places for lunch and several local restaurants that will deliver. Smoking Policy: Nine Mile Point allows smoking in eight designated smoking shelters only. Smoking is forbidden in the parking lot, between buildings and within site office buildings. Site Work Hours/Training Start Times: Regular site hours are 7 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Hours may vary, as some departments are working flex schedules. If you are attending training, please verify the start time. If you are late, you may not be admitted to class. Whole Body Count/Scan: If you are traveling to NMPNS from another nuclear facility, notify your current site's Radiation Protection department of your visit to our site prior to arrival. You are responsible for ensuring that you obtain a "whole body count/scan" at your current site before being badged as a radiation worker at NMPNS.

Nine Mile Point Site Policies and Standards Attire: Dress in the office setting is typically business casual. For working in the plant, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat and safety shoes (steel or composite-toed) are required. Please check with your NMPNS site contact prior to arrival regarding supply of safety glasses and hard hats. Typically, contractor/consultant firms performing work at NMPNS are required to provide their own glasses and hard hats, while visitors are provided such items by NMPNS. Individuals wearing shorts, skirts, dresses, sandals, or open-toed or high-heeled shoes will not be permitted in the power block. If you are unsure of what footwear is required for your visit, check with your NMPNS site contact before arrival, especially if you are a visitor going on a plant tour. In-processing Escorted/Unescorted Access Escorted Access: Unless you are badged for unescorted access at NMPNS, you must be escorted into the Protected and Vital areas of the plant. If you are escorted, you must stay with your escort at all times, so that the escort can maintain BOTH visual contact and conversational voice control at all times. Unescorted Access: If you are to be badged for unescorted access to the site, you will be required to successfully complete necessary training and in-processing activities that include security screening, drug and alcohol testing, and classroom/practical training, as required by NMPNS. Please call (315) 349-1015 if you have questions pertaining to Badging/In-Processing.
