The ladies swamped the men s team with a huge score. The men never even got on base, exclaimed a member of the Ladies team. The November campout at Paradise Oaks enjoyed pleasant weather and good company. We even enjoyed the use of the large hall with the Big A.. Fan keeping us comfortable. Many members are taking advantage of the early day Thursday arrival. A relaxing afternoon was enjoyed by all. Friday afternoon activities were in full swing with 15 member rigs and 3 drive-ins. Guests were Rose Mary Culp and Ted and Colleen Litz friends of Sharon & Roger. Many enjoyed participating in our host s pumpkin creation project. We painted, glued and applied a surface decorative material and a topping bow to make a festive pumpkin. That evening some couples went out to dine to Beef O Brady s, some went to a fish fry and some stayed home for a quiet relaxing evening s supper. Later we played games. For Saturday morning breakfast our hosts provided a delicious French toast and sausage breakfast. Our meeting followed at 10:00. After lunch we played beanbag baseball. The men lost all momentum gained last month as the ladies team beat the men into oblivion. Dinner featured delicious, delicious and more delicious oven baked Turkey and stuffing and all the side dish fixings a person could ever enjoy. Your editor, along with a few others, was rolled back to their RVs. After dinner the hosts challenged us with attempting to build the tallest marshmallow tower. It was a toppling experience! Sunday morning we enjoyed sweets and a good weather departure. Thanks to our hosts: Hime and Gonya. Some of our members then traveled to The Rally located in Daytona via a four night stay at Silver River State Park. Beautiful blue sky weather for both events. 15 rigs attended The Rally. See brief report on last page.

More Bits: Last Spring Sharon and Roger introduced the idea of attending The Rally in the Fall put on by Good Sams in Daytona. Others then suggested that on the way to Daytona we stop over at Silver River State Park located just east of Ocala off highway 40. From Paradise Oaks Gonya, Griffin, Leonards, Marks and Sims traveled to Silver River and stayed four nights. We had power and water and sites large enough to almost be able to park our rigs sideways! We hiked on the trails, did a little biking and enjoyed warming campfires and yummy smores during the chilly evenings. Beautiful blue sky weather and a beautiful state park made the stay exceptional. Thursday the Silver River group drove over highway 40 to the Daytona RV park and met up with Basener, Breitweiser, Chaney, Daland, C Green, Hendrix, Hime, Litz, Sylvia/Walkovik and Wright. We again had great weather and the arrangement of off site camping worked well. There were seminars, vendors, RVs and entertainment, so lots to do in just three days. We enjoyed Kenny Rogers, both his music and as an entertainer and he was amazingly strong for 74. Reba McIntyre sang for two hours and she was easy to be with and put on a great show. And of course the parachute flag entrance by two sky divers was pretty impressive as they landed in front of us on the track. I think a good time was had by all Golden Triangle Sams Minutes October 27, 2012 President Karl Raabe called the October/November meeting of Golden Triangle Sams to order at Paradise Oaks in Bushnell at 10:00 AM. Tom Leonard gave the invocation. Past Presidents Derek Pymer, Rich VanderBok, Dale Horn, Mickey Marks, and Steve Griffin led the group in the Pledge to the Flag. Penny Ritenburgh introduced our guests, Ted and Colleen Litz, who are friends of Roger & Sharon Hime. Karl welcomed Bob & Reba Ward and thanked them for their service as State Directors; also thanked Rich & Sharon VanderBok for their years as ASD. Secretary Janet Marks called the roll; there were 15 members in attendance. Penny Ritenburgh moved and Dotty Weis seconded that we accept the minutes of the previous meeting as sent out; motion passed. Nancy Leonard gave the Treasurer s Report, and thanked Janet for filling in for her over the summer. Mickey Marks moved and Rich seconded that the Treasurer s report be approved; motion passed. She also presented bills to be paid. Carol G moved and Bill Mundy seconded that we pay the bills; motion passed. Committee Reports: Host Chairperson: Carol Raabe reported that we need hosts for the April meeting, 2012; she also said that officers would meet after the meeting for planning December meeting activities. Carol also has the T-shirts that were ordered and will give them out after the meeting. She also thanked Claudia Basener and Alliance RV for the $250 Alliance donated for our Christmas dinner, and 5 $100 gift certificates they donated to our chapter. Sunshine: Carol Griffin reported that Dianne Gonya will have surgery in two weeks; Claudia is to have leg surgery. Games: Hosts announced 1:00 beanbag baseball plus some surprise games after dinner. Martha Wright : Coupons for Troops, she reported that she has a new resource giving her booklets of coupons. She has mailed in a grand total of $79,367 worth of coupons. We will still continue, as bases all over the world need them even in the war in ending. Bob Sims reported that the Vet hospital only takes paperbacks now, but has found nursing home that will take hard backs. Tom Leonard reported that they will once again be collecting for Loaves & Fishes; also that there will be a dog walk at the Samboree with judging for pirate costumes. Beverly Sims needs someone to take her place with the printer cartridge recycling, as there are no stores close by where they moved.

Sharon Hime reported that the Album was turned in, with Rich s help. Karl thanked her for all the hard work and excellent job on the Album. Old Business: 1. Karl reported that the December meeting will be in the small room, but management has agreed to remove the furniture to accommodate our group. 2. The Christmas Dinner cost is $15.00 deadline November 18! 3. 2013 dues also must be paid by November18! Send both to Nancy Leonard. New Business: 1. Cindy Rogers clarified arrangements for the February meeting at Southern Palms. 2. Discussion regarding amounts to be given to charities at the Fall Samboree. The following amounts were voted on and approved: Boggy Creek $500; Florida Dog Guides for the Deaf $1500; Dogs for the Deaf $100; Shriner s Hospital $250; Pennies for Pooches $100 3. Karl has signed us up to do Hospitality cookies and punch at the Samboree; Janet will do the schedule. 4. Carol moved and Penny seconded that we give 2 $25 gift certificates for door prizes at the Samboree. Motion passed, and Nancy will purchase. 5. Dotty brought thank you notes from Tavares Elementary for the school supplies we donated. They can also use food items for kids to take home on weekends. 6. Next Campout: Dec. 7-9 at Paradise Oaks (early bird Thurs, Dec. 6) Everyone is to bring a dessert, meal will be catered by TooJays; also if you want to be in the gift exchange, bring 2 gifts (gag gifts or $5 limit). There will also be a money tree, and canned goods collections (one item per foot length of your rig!) What works and what doesn t: Reba Ward announced she was regifting some items they have received over their term as State Directors, and returned the puppies to Tom! Breitweisers thanked all who visited them at Dollywood over the summer. Wrights donated a new roll of 50/50 tickets. The Horns are moving to South Carolina; they will miss us, and we them! 50 / 50: $21 to chapter and $10 to Carol R. and $11 to Jim Rogers. Penny announced $5 per couple for weekend prorated meals. Meeting was adjourned 11:08. Respectfully submitted, Janet Marks, Secretary From the Editor: the editor apologizes for not including November birthdays in last month s newsletter; and there were about a hundred of them so I m again in the doghouse. The tradition is to announce the birthdays the month before so we will all be reminded in advance of who is celebrating.
