Thirty Ideas from around the Fair industry will be discussed, from Sponsorship to Event Marketing, Guerrilla Marketing to Social Media Campaigns that engage your customers; let s talk about it all. We will cover new ideas and help get those creative juices flowing again. Together we can make a difference in your next event. Danny Aguilar has over 25 years of experience helping organizations increase their visibility, sponsorship revenue, and social media presence. He has worked as European Promotions Director for the International Organization Up With People and continues to work as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Marketing for the Delaware State Fair and other organizations creating marketing strategies for their events/festivals, and corporate sponsorship programs. He is responsible for several aspects of the organization, including budget, sponsorship, marketing, community relations, acts and entertainment, and advertising. Danny Aguilar's energetic, upbeat, jargon-free approach to life and work continues to help him raise two wonderful kids while balancing life's challenges between personal and professional enjoyment. Kate O'Brien Getting Schools to the Fair Kate O'Brien from the Topsfield Fairgrounds in Topsfield, MA will discuss all the aspects of bringing local school groups to the Fair. Topics will include what Fairs already have to offer, how they can use this to develop educational programs, techniques for getting the word out, and much more! Kate O'Brien is the Education & Outreach Coordinator for the Topsfield Fair, as well as a Middle School Special Education Teacher. Rey O Day BIO Rey O Day has extensive background in the entertainment, events, and food and beverage industries. She is currently the Executive Manager of NICA West, a sister organization focused on developing vendor/fair staff Communication Committees at fairs and advantaging its vendor members with the power of group discount buying. Most recently she served as the Producing Artistic Director at Performance Riverside, a highly regarded professional musical theatre company. Over a period of 18 years she held a number of key management positions at Fairplex, home of the LA County Fair, including Assistant Operations Manager, Retail Sales Manager, Entertainment Manager, Director of Food and Beverage and General Manager of Cornucopia Foods, LLC. In addition to this course, she is an instructor for the Guest Services course for the IAFE Institute of Fair Management. She is alsoa Best Practices/Industry Standards Consultant for Western Fairs Association, and Program Manager for The Box, a 200 seat theater in the City of Riverside. She has conducted orientations and guest service training for The Hollywood Bowl, gives keynote addresses and leads workshops for numerous organizations, and adjudicates show choirs. She holds a California Community College Teaching Credential in Dance and a Bachelor s Degree in Business Management. In summary, she is a general manager, artistic producer, educator, and businesswoman who is grateful to be with us today. IAFE S INSTITUTE WORKSHOP Course Description for Principles of Food & Beverage An introduction to the principles and role of food and beverage service at fairs and fairground facilities that suggests ways to create a successful environment for the fair and the concessionaries where a high level of guest satisfaction and financial return are possible because of their working together.
