The weather was warm with NO RAIN and the food was plentiful and delicious, as usual. The dominos stayed in the box as cards where played instead. Another great time at their place. Gracious hosts, as always. 3
July Recap Ice Cream Drive Story and photos by Bunnie Dow On Sunday, July 29, Ray and Bunnie Dow hosted a drive for ice cream. Seven Miatas and 4 OTMs left the Cocoa library and headed for what started as a nice trip for ice cream. Weather deteriorated quickly so the topless cars buttoned up. In all, nineteen members arrived at Scoops in Port St. John after a car wash from Mother Nature. While everyone enjoyed their ice cream, our President had the special a chili dog, soft drink and ice cream. Thanks to our tail gunner, Greg Smith for making sure we all arrived safely. Special thanks to Charlie Sizer who brought Mary Ruth along with her walker, just 2 week post op. It was her first trip out and she loved it Guess Who? This little lady grew up a bit and loves the Miata and is a great supporter of the club. Answer on page 5. This is the last picture I have to publish, so send me yours to keep this feature going. July Recap Trip to Lakeridge Winery On Saturday, July 21, Michael Edwards hosted a Spur of the Moment drive to the Lakeridge Winery near Clermont. Lynn Achenbach and two prospective members, Marge and Steve Marcum, joined him on the drive. After going on the wine tasting tour, they settled back for some great vino and food offerings and entertainment. There was lots of shade under the oak trees and a gentle breeze. Steve led the group back through winding roads of Lake County, up "Sugar Loaf Mountain", though Montverde, which is a gorgeous area for cruising, and back home. Great trip there and back. Michael would like to do it again.
