Project Information Project location: Culpeper County, limits are approx. 4.1 miles east of Route 29 to approx. 4 miles west of the Culpeper/Orange County line Purpose: Design and construct a 5-mile long section of four-lane, median divided roadway to complete four-lane section and improve safety Design-build construction; two-phase low bid procurement Total estimated cost: $43 million RFP release: April 18, 2013 Bids received: $23,693,455.00 Final completion: August 2016 Final section of Route 3 to be widened to four lanes from Culpeper County to King George County 30
