SOUTH CAROLINA STATE DIRECTOR MESSAGE: Greeting to all the Members of FCRV in the State of South Carolina. Due to not having a Spring Red Bug a lot has been happening. In March we were off to Houma, La for International Retiree Rally. It was really a nice trip. Our Retiree King and Queen come from the State of Missouri. In May we had our Spring State Camp out at Barn Yard RV Resort in Lexington SC. The weather was great and a good time was enjoyed. Thank you Dutch Fork Camper's for hosting this camp out. Friday started with registration followed by ice cream social and games. Saturday Evening Dinner was supplied by John, Delores Derrick and Dutch Fork club. If you like Chicken Bog and were not present you missed out. Sunday Service was held and enjoyed by all in attendance. Campvention this year will be held in Shawnee, Ok. Application can be found in Camping Today. South East Regional will be in Hiawassee, Ga June 9th to 12th. At our Retiree Camp out a number of names were mentioned as to not being well, and cards were suggested to be sent. If you are not feeling well or have been under the weather as they say I hope you will get better and always remember that you are always in our Prayer's. Some may say that Prayer doesn't work, if so have them call me and I will be able to tell them different. This time last year I was in and out of the hospital four times. The fourth time surgery was performed. And while going down that long road to recovery I felt your Prayers; I am sitting here typing this note to you all giving it a lot of thought. If you have not been out to one of our State or Retiree outing, keep an eye on our Redbug and see where and when our next camp out will be. You are missing out on being and enjoying one another's friendship. As the warmer weather comes upon us I hope you all enjoy the summer months and stay well enough to enjoy the season. Till we meet in the fall, I remain yours in Camping: Fred Muckle, State Director SOUTHEAST REGIONAL DIRECTORS The 2016 Southeast Regional Campout was a huge success and we appreciate all the time and effort of the Georgia members. We had a very productive meeting to discuss the 2018 Campvention and committee chairs were selected for most of the committees. However, we still need a lot of help from all our members as we plan for a fun time. A site has not been selected as of this time but hopefully we will know more by July 1. The two sites being considered are Virginia Fairgrounds near Richmond and the fairgrounds in Winston-Salem. We will be having a contest to select the theme, decal, and colors and we encourage everyone to participate. Your state director will have details. We were glad to see several South Carolina members attending the Southeast campout and look forward to working with all of you on the 2018 Campvention. Don & Marjory Bates Director-Southeast Region 2

REPORT OF THE SOUTHEST REGIONAL RALLY For those that missed the Southeast Regional Rally you missed a good time. Georgia was a great host as always. Bald Mountain campground is a very nice place. Several of us went to the top of Bald Mountain and the view from the top was breath taking. Attending from South Carolina were the Derricks, Nat Mcartha, Freddie Huggins, Vi Ammons and Fred Muckle and The Ishmaels. We certainly ate well. Friday night we were served tacos. Saturday was barbeque. Margie Bates, our Southeast Regional director held a special planning meeting for 2018 Campvention that we will be hosting. It will take every body to put this on as we are down to 412 members in our region. Most of the committee chairs are in place but now they need team members so decide where you would like to work and please volunteer so no one will pushed to their limits trying to cover everything. The location has not been confirmed as of this date but should be very soon and Fred will get that information to us as soon as he gets it. Submitted by LaNelle Ishmael MINUTES OF THE PALMETTO RETIREE FEBRUARY LUNCHEON Meeting was called to order by Pres. Jeanne Dean. Prayer was led by Fred. Roll Call, Previous Minutes, Treasurers Report were read and a motion was made to accept all Reports. Tabs and Labels are still being collected. A Second Signature was added to the checking account. President Jeanne Dean signed the Bank Card. Guy and Jeanne Dean will represent South Carolina at the Retiree Rally in Houma LA... Leon and LaNelle Ishmael will chair the Hospitality. All our support will be needed. Fred reported on Retiree Rally in Houma La. Asking as many as can attend to please do so. Spring State Campout and Retiree Campout will be held at Barnyard RV Resort in Lexington SC from May 13 th to May 18 th., ] Redbug Editor indicated that there would be no March Redbug due to travel to Houma La. This meeting was held on the patio at Anderson s and was very cool and also noisy due to traffic US 378. 19 Members attended along with 7 visitors totaling 26 in attendance. Bank Account Balance as of Feb 9, 20126 is $1248.57 Respectfully Vi Ammons Secretary/Treasurer MINUTES OF MAY 14, 2016 MEETING OF THE SC STATE ASSOCIATION OF FCRV David Bragg presided. Prayer was given by Fred Mickle followed by the Pledge to the Flag Leon made a motion, seconded by Johnny Williamson to accept the minutes from the fall campout as polished in the Redbug. All approved. Fred Muckle made a motion to table the treasurer s report as the treasurer was unavailable. Seconded by Andy Davis and all approved. David Bragg did roll call with the following attendees: Dutch Fork, Myrtle Beach Combers, Grays Road Runners, Palmetto Retirees and Three Rivers. There was no Old Business. 3

New Business: Fred had a letter from the Belcher s stating their name needs to be removed from the Red Bug as Field Directors. They are no longer able to fulfill the duties of the positon. National has also been notified. Billy also notified Fred that the FCRV Local Chapter, The Skeeter Scratchers club has disbanded. They had $154 in the treasury. A check was sent to Fred which he has forwarded to National for the scholarship fund. We have 3 clubs in the state that only have 1 active couple each. Fred stated he received an inquiry about our organization but because he wasn t given an address, didn t know which club to refer the person to. Fred welcomed Bobby and Kathy Lee to our meeting. They are members of the Dutch Fork but at the moment are not camping but attended to help Dutch Fork as they were hosting the event. Fred states that half (1/2) of our members are Life Time Members He said he didn t know how long the non-life time Members would continue to pay their dues since National dues have increased this year. He asked that if we know of a prospective member to try to get them involved in a Local Chapter. Everyone seems to want to invite new members to join Retirees and we need to increase membership in other Chapters as well. Fred announced the Southeast Regional is to be held in Hiawassee, Ga at Bald Mountain campground June 9th 12 th. Southeast Region will be hosting Campvention in 2018 so we are being asked to stay until Monday if possible for a planning session Sunday afternoon. We will need all the help we can get to host Campvention. Also, Campvention will be in Shawnee, OK July 26 th 29 th. Campvention in 2017 will be in Lima, Ohio, with dates to be announced later. As soon as information is released, Fred will get it in the Redbug. There will be no Southeast Regional in 2018 since we will be doing Campvention that year. Fred thanked Leon and LaNelle for hoisting the Hospitably in Houma for Guy & Jeanne Dean who were running for International Retiree King & Queen. They placed second Runner Up. Barb and Dwight Bonifield, from Ohio received First Runner-up and our new 2016 King & Queen are Dal & Barb Dodson from Missouri. Fred reminded everyone of their National dues. If you are not sure when they are due the date is on the label of your Camping Today magazine. It is $35 for one (1) year if you renew for 2 years it is $68. LaNelle went over some of the things Georgia has planned for the Southeast Regional. There will be a Hospitality on Thursday. There will be Line Dancing and Hot dots on Friday, and Ice Cream Social and Babe-Q dinner on Saturday. It is a lovely campground. Building is very big. If you don t want to camp there are cabins to rent. Call the campground at # 706-896-8896 to make your reservation. There is a $35 Registration Fee for the campout to be paid to GA. You may call Ron and Reba Ray. To register with GA call 706-302-6735. John said we were not sure about the fall campout. The Deans should be here for the Retiree meeting Wednesday. Meeting adjourned. Respectively Submitted LaNelle Ishmael WE SALUTE OUR LIFE MEMBERS! Virginia and Robin Backman, Cayce John and Delores Derrick, Irmo Quillie and Ellen Crosby, Early Branch Ed and Betty Crout, Gilbert Julia Holland, Columbia Amos and Beverly Horle, Beaufort, LaNelle and Leon Ishmael, Belvedere Eunice Kritsidimas, San Antonio, TX 4

MINUTES OF PALMETTO RETIREE'S MAY 18TH, 2016 Meeting was called to order by Pres. Jeanne Dean. Prayer and Pledge to the Flag was led by LaNelle Ishmael, Minutes of February Luncheon were read and accepted as written. Treasurer Report followed. Motion made by John Derrick and second by Quillie Crosby to accept both reports. Under sickness a number of names were mentioned, Billy and Carolyn Belcher, Walt and Marilyn Shealy, William and Lougene Shealy, James and Olea Poole. Cards were suggested to be sent to these folks and also kept in our Prayer's. Thank you was extended to LaNelle and Leon Ishmael for hosting the hospitality for Guy and Jeanne Dean our S. C. Retiree King and Queen at Houma, La. Big Thank You to Guy and Jeanne for running as S. C. King and Queen. If you are interested in having a Retiree T-Shirt contact Fred Muckle or Ed Crout they have shirts available. Iva Finkenbiner was contacted in regards to the purchase of the Palm Tree that has been used at a number of Hospitalities and she has agreed to sell same tree to Palmetto Retiree's..A Motion, made by Dave Bragg, was second by Johnny O Martin to purchase the tree, was passed by those present. Wagon Master Guy Dean has indicated the Summer Camp out in August will be held at Pine Lake RV Resort in Wagram, N. C. Their telephone number is 910-281-3319. Call and make reservation under FCRV/Palmetto Retiree. Fall Camp out will be held at Charleston KOA in Ladson, SC from Nov 11th to Nov 17th. Watch Red Bug for reservation information. On August 21st, 2017 the folks living in Lexington SC will enjoy a total eclipse of the sun. Coincidently, this date falls within the normal week of the 2017 Palmetto Retiree Summer Rally. Guy Dean, Wagon Master, has already reserved 30 sites, at Barn Yard RV Resor, for this solar experience. If you are interested, contact Barn Yard and reserve early. This will be published in Camping Today, so get on board early. A discussion was held regarding the re-design of Palmetto Retiree Directory into an SC FCRV State Directory to expressly include all SC members of FCRV SC whether they are active campers of not. This will insure that those members out of the loop will find out, at least, if there are FCRV members living in their community and when the next campout will occur.. These additional names would also be added to the Redbug Recipient list, to receive the Redbug via Electronic or Snail mail. This idea was tabled for now to allow Guy Dean, the keeper of both the Retiree Directory and Redbug Editor, to do additional research. A Thank you was extended to Chris Davis for serving on the Palmetto Retiree Board for the past Two Years. John Derrick has agreed to serve on the Board for 2017 and 2018. After the meeting we went to lunch and then returned to play some games in the Flea Market building due to some rain in the area. Motion to adjourn was made by Fred Muckle and second by Johnny Williamson. Respectfully: Vi Ammons -- Secretary/Treasurer. 5
