Make your check out to West Penn Miata Club Mail your check and renewal form to: E Nancy Galvin 3420 Country Club Rd Mt Pleasant, PA 15666 WPMC Tech Session by Nancy Galvin ver wonder what it would take to road race your Miata? Jim Locke builds Spec Miatas and acts as Pit Crew for those who race the cars he builds. There are two topics for this session - " Differences between stock and SCCA Spec Miatas" and "Maintenance of your Miata". This is a great opportunity to get more information about our Miatas from an experienced Miata mechanic. Lunch will follow the Tech Session. Date & Time:. March 26 @ 10:00 AM Place: Jim Locke Automotive: 549 RT 130, Trafford, PA 15085 RSVP: to ngalvin58@westpennmiataclub.com or 330-717- 6335 (after 5 PM please) by March 18th J SCCA Cumberland Majors Races by Joe & Linda Zimliki im Locke, who is hosting our Tech Session this year, has arranged for our club to attend the SCCA Cumberland Majors Races on May 14 at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex. The U.S. Majors Tour is the pinnacle of championship racing in North America. This is where America's best amateur drivers race. It means start-to-finish, wheel-to-wheel action. The U.S Majors Tour conducts Championships in five separate conferences. We will have a roped off area in the VIP section on Spectator Hill in the middle of the action. There will be a clear view of the entire track. We will also have a parade lap on the track. There is a bulk price for this event so I need to know who can make a firm commitment. I would like to have at least 20 Miatas from our club attend. The cost is $25 per car if we have 20 vehicles. Cost will be adjusted if we have more than 20 cars. We have to arrive as a group. place and time will be decided at later date. At this point, I need to know who will attend. Please let me know at lzimliki@westpennmataclub.com or 724-327-1762 by March 16th. 2016 CRUISIN & ZOOMIN SEASON BY LINDA ZIMLIKI T he Zoomin Season is just around the corner and we have a great year planned. 4 Top Down Adventures by Mike Butler, President A n old Irish proverb starts by saying "May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face"; such words will be coming true shortly for the 2016 West Penn Miata Club. We are now only weeks away from the start of what is sure to be a fun and exciting Top Down Adventure season. I'd like to thank everyone who helped promote and distribute membership information about our Club at the 2016 Pittsburgh International Auto Show. This event helps us draw new members, allows us to communicate with the Mazda community, and gives us the opportunity to check out the new models. updated with current photos. Including a group photo and highlights from each cruise allows people visiting our website to see our members and the interesting places we visit and fun times we've had. It's also enjoyable for our members who were not able to come on a certain cruise to check it out. I wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Easter. Think Green and Think Spring! If you're visiting this site just to check us out, Welcome! I hope you'll join us for an event this year so you can learn more about us. See you soon! Get ready, get set, ZOOM! On urday, March 5th, we held our first Board at Smail Mazda where we unveiled the cruises for the 2016 season. We have events planned for all of our members interests. We have also added day cruises this year for our members that are not able to attend some of our urday events. Check out the events planned, mark your calendars, and watch for specific reservation announcements as the event nears. As President, my continued goal is to keep our club growing. Last year we had over 25 new members join our club, which was a huge membership success, and I'd like to keep this trend going, but increasing membership requires everyone's help. Communication is a key to growing our membership and word of mouth and advertising are two of the greatest tools that we have available. To help promote our club with advertising, we have our laminated West Penn Miata Club signs for the dashboard. These signs should not only be displayed while we are on a cruise, but should be displayed whenever you park your car on a daily basis to show off your club pride. We also have Nice cards to place on the windshield wipers of Miatas that you may come across in parking lots. The Nice cards inform Miata owners of our club's website and possibly entice them to join us for the fun. by Jim Pacillo April Deadline The deadline for articles for the April newsletter is April 2, 2016 Last year we made great strides in keeping our website
