Spring Camporee St. Clair, Black Gold, and Kaskaskia Districts Lewis and Clark Council May 1-3, 2015 Camp Joy $12 a person Come Join in the Adventure of Huck and Tom and they battle the Mighty Mississippi under the watchful eye of Mark Twain Events will be based on Team Building and Problem Solving! Webelos 2 welcome to camp with Troop Webelos 1 and 2 may come out and participate for the day
Focus and Vision: The focus of this Camporee is to develop leadership skills and vision is to build the bonds of friendship in Scouting across the Council. To do this each boy will be assigned to a Raft (10 scouts) with other boys from different units across the council. This will allow them to express their leadership skills without the preconceived roles they have within their Troop or Patrol. They will build new friendships in scouting that will be strengthened later as they go to summer camp and later on to high adventure trips with other scouts. Each raft will be given a flag. Throughout the day they will get to decorate the flag based on the members in the group and the events they complete. At the end of the day the raft will vote and select the best leader (The Tom). The Tom will get to keep the flag to help them remember the group that helped them develop their leadership skills. Units can camp or just come out for the day.
