History Kenyon Ranch opened in 1935 as a Dude Ranch for those wanting leisure time in the sun by Bill and Sis Allen. The Ranch closed for business in the early 1970s. In 2003, the current ownership gave the ranch new life. They went to work restoring the lovely river stone buildings, swimming pool area and built Heron Lodge that houses the large meeting room and 2 smaller break out rooms. Since 2005, they opened the doors of the Ranch to guests who were participating in the STAR Foundation retreats, personal therapy retreats and other workshops. Eventually, the schedule of the ranch opened to other groups. Many of these groups have come back year after year, a testimonial to the nature of the Ranch and its staff.
