STEPHANE CHEIKH SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER RENAUD IRMINGER PROGRAM DIRECTOR KEVIN O SULLIVAN SENIOR ARCHITECT We re transforming the air transport industry by taking it a step closer to near field communication (NFC) technology. It s the philosophy driving s Command Centers because we know that the best way to solve a problem is to tackle it before it happens. ANDREW MURPHY HEAD OF IT&T DUBLIN AIRPORT AUTHORITY ZYRA RIVERA TABARES SPECIALIST CHANGE MANAGEMENT Visit one of our Command Centers in Montreal and Singapore and you ll be right at the nerve centre of the air transport industry. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, our highly-skilled technicians are proactively monitoring the applications, solutions and infrastructure on which our 2,700 customers depend. They are identifying and resolving problems before they have a chance to impact. Very often, the customer isn t even aware of it. The Command Centers are integrated with our dedicated Next Generation Data Centers (NGDCs) because we know that processing, maintaining and securing data is critical to the continued success of our industry. Taking us one step closer to zero downtime, the NGDCs offer a robust on-demand infrastructure that maximizes IT uptime and minimizes disruption. KENG YONG HO MANAGER CLOUD Unlike other providers, our Command Centers and Data Centers are 100% dedicated to the air transport industry. They give us a unique insight into the performance of airlines and airports throughout the globe, insight we are happy to share with our members. S PURPOSE-BUILT COMMAND CENTERS WILL MOVE THE INDUSTRY SIGNIFICANTLY CLOSER TO ZERO DOWNTIME. Ken Yong Ho Manager Cloud, PAUL MURPHY VP SALES SUB SAHARA AFRICA, BAHRAIN, UAE & KUWAIT Dublin Airport has just undergone a 1.2billion redevelopment and they asked us to design and build the IT infrastructure for their new terminal. Dublin Airport is the gateway to Ireland and increasingly a hub for transatlantic flights. Driven in part by the growth in low cost travel, passenger numbers have grown rapidly in Ireland in recent years. 23 million passengers a year were passing through the airport, necessitating the redevelopment. Terminal 2 is part of the new airport, designed to handle an extra 15 million passengers a year. As systems integrator, we delivered T2 s specialist systems ensuring that all communications, security and passenger systems were operational when the terminal opened in November 2010. Not only did we implement and test everything to go live by this deadline, we also managed the multi-vendor environment and integrated a US Customs & Border Protection facility. DUBLIN AIRPORT S ROLE IN THE IRISH ECONOMY IS UNDENIABLE. THE AIRPORT ACCOUNTS FOR 25% OF TOTAL REGIONAL REVENUES. WHEN IT COMES TO STIMULATING THE ECONOMY, WE RE A BIG PLAYER. WITH VIRGIN ATLANTIC IT S ALL ABOUT THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH HAS ALLOWED US TO IMPROVE THAT, WHILE THE FINANCIAL SAVINGS ARE FUNDAMENTAL TO OUR GOAL OF DRIVING DOWN THE OVERALL COST BASE OF DELIVERY OF IT TO THE BUSINESS. David Bulman IT Director, Virgin Atlantic DAVID BULMAN IT DIRECTOR VIRGIN ATLANTIC Virgin Atlantic s voice and data communications requirements had grown almost uncontrollably. Many of their solutions were creating expensive service overlaps. And finding the staff that could manage the numerous legacy systems and cope with new technology across 100 sites was practically impossible. Many airlines have suffered from the unmanaged growth of their voice and data solutions. The result is complex, heterogeneous environments that are expensive to support. Virgin Atlantic addressed the issue head on. By appointing us to the role of Network Guardian, the airline was looking to standardize and simplify the delivery of its network services, reduce costs and improve service levels. We responded by reducing their roster of voice and data communications suppliers from 40 to one. Under the terms of a five-year multi-million dollar deal agreement underpinned by our new Airline Infrastructure Management solution, we took charge of the airline s international and domestic IP VPN, voice (IPT and PBX), Managed LAN, cabling, core network support, Vendor Management Services and Service Management. And with simplicity has come the savings and improved service levels the airline desired. 8 9
