For state and federal grants that are calculated based on student counts of less than 16, CDE will redact the grant amounts in the reports and allocation documents to ensure that the documents do not contain any data or information that can be used to ascertain personally identifiable information (PII). This is in response to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) 99.3 which states that protected information can include Other information that, alone or in combination, is linked or linkable to a specific student that would allow a reasonable person in the school community, who does not have personal knowledge of the relevant circumstances, to identify the student with reasonable certainty.
