Sat., Aug., 15 Arrival Zurich - Mürren Upon arrival at Zurich International Airport, meet your tour guide who will accompany you throughout. Tour the city and walk through the cobblestoned lanes of the Old City, visit the Grossmunster Cathedral, where Huldrych Zwingli began the Swiss Reformation. Admire stunning stained glass windows by Marc Chagall of the Fraumuenster Abbey and view St. Peter's Church boasting the largest clock face in Europe. Journey to two important landmarks of the Swiss Reformation, near the Grossmunster Abbey and Limmat River. The first one commemorates the ordeal of a Christian Anabaptist and the second one is a Mennonite Reformation rebaptism site. In the afternoon, board the coach for a magnificent drive along the Alps to Mürren for overnight. Sun., Aug., 16 Mürren, Jungfraujoch Leisure time in Murren. Optional excursion (for additional cost): The Jungfraujoch top of Europe is the highlight of any Swiss journey. The highest railway station in Europe is located 11,000+ feet above sea level. Gain access to a high-alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, admirable from the viewing platforms on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. The railway journey is an experience which leads through the Eiger and Monch mountains. At the Eismeer and the Eiger intermediate stations you can enjoy the wonderful and impressing panorama. This excursion depends on weather conditions. Overnight in Murren. B Mon, Aug. 17 Mürren - Colmar/France - Triberg Following breakfast, our journey takes us to France where we drive through the Alsace to Colmar. B Tue., Aug. 18 Black Forest Today, travel through the storybook magical Black Forest famous for its Black Forest maids, Black Forest farms, Black Forest gateau, Bollenhut hats, and cuckoo clocks. In Titsee-Neustadt you will have the opportunity to taste the famous Black Forest cake, do some souvenir shopping and have lunch (on your own). Return to Triberg and visit the world's largest cuckoo clock. Another highlight will be the highest waterfalls in Germany. Overnight in Triberg. B Wed., Aug. 19 Triberg - Oberammergau area This morning, drive south through the Black Forest to Schaffhausen/Switzerland to view the Rhine Falls (Rheinfall), Europe's largest waterfalls. Then onward along the foothills of the Alps through breathtaking scenery to the Lake of Constance, Germany s largest lake. Then, continue on to the Oberammergau area for overnight. B, D Thu, Aug. 20 Passion Play Oberammergau World-renowned, the quaint Bavarian town of Oberammergau is the site of the extravagant Oberammergau Passion Play performed only once every ten years and involving almost all residents of the village.
