Modernity, Consumer Culture and Identity Urban-Rural Relations, Space and Social Relations of Production I investigate how globalization, modernity and consumption shape new forms of identity and communities. My extant research focuses on the formation of alternative food movements in China and how new economic classes attempt to reconfigure social and cultural landscapes. My new research focuses on the globalization of Chinese enterprises and evolving notions and interpretations of China in the World.
