Second View of Safe outside view of safe On July 10, 2006 at approximately 7:20 a.m. 1, Sgt. T. Legere, met with Eric Launius at the Murphysboro Police Department. Launius came to the police department to provide information on the whereabouts of a handgun that had been stolen. Patrolman Gib Bastien assisted me on the
interview. Launius stated that on or about July 4, 2006 he was with Donald Moutria when Moutria showed Launius a silver colored revolver with black grips. Launius described the gun as a 38 or 357 revolver. Launius stated this occurred in the basement of Moutria's residence at 2016 Edith Street. Launius stated Moutria bragged that the gun was stolen from State Representative Mike Bost residence. Launius stated that he was later with Moutria on Saturday July 8, 2006 and Moutria was still bragging about having the gun along with a shotgun. On July 5, 2006 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Murphysboro Police took a report from Williard J. Bond and Paradise Bond. The report stated that Donald Moutria pointed a silver revolver at Williard Bond and threatened to shoot him. On July 10, 2006 at approximately 8:15 a.m. I met with Mike Bost at bis residence in reference to the weapon in question. Bost checked a gun safe and discovered that a Rossi.357 was missing. The gun safe is located in the "mud room" area of the residence that the Bost's use as a computer room between the residence portion of the house and a Hair Salon attached to the residence. The handgun was described as nickel plated with a black handgrip. The handgun was purchased from Hick's Trading Station in Pinckneyville and has a seal above the grip that shows it to be a special edition from Hick's Trading Station. Bost stated that he had left town on July 3, 2006 to take bis daughter to the airport and stayed the night in St. Louis, Missouri. Bost did state that he normally leaves a side entrance door to the residence unlocked for his older children to come and go. Bost further stated that he remembered his son Steven Bost tell him of suspicious people that had come by the residence during the time that they were gone, and that Steven bad locked the residence after this occurrence. T asked Bost if anyone had been around the residence lately that was of questionable character and he stated that they had allowed a young woman to live with them for a short time. Bost stated that the girls name was Cori and she was 17 years old. I, and Detective Laughland were later able to identify this female as Cori Walraven and Bost later confirmed that this was the name of the girl On.July 10, 2006 at approximately 8:30 I spoke with Steven Bost who stated that he was at the Mike Bost residence on July 4, 2006 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Steven stated that he was in the fenced deck area using the hot tub. With Steven were his wife Elizabeth Bost, and Andrea Mendenhall. Steven stated that during the time he was there two white females and one white male came to the residence and acted strangely. Steven stated that the subjects knocked on the gate to the patio and then opened it. Steven stated he asked if he could help the trio and one female stated that she was Cori's sister and noted the lights to the residence on.
She further stated that she wanted to let the Bost's know that Cori would not be spending the night there. Steven advised the fem ale that spoke was the sister to Cori Walraven and identified Toni Walraven as being one of the females. Steven was unable to identify the male with the females, however it is known that Cori and Toni Walraven associate with Donald Moutria. I compiled a photo lineup including Donald Moutria and Steven was unable to identify anyone in the photos. Steven admitted that it was dark on the patio and that he only saw the male for a short time. Steven further advised that he noted that a vehicle was sitting across from the residence as they left and was told by his wife Elizabeth that she was sure that the same people were in the vehicle. Steven described the vehicle as being possible a beige Toyota Celica type vehicle that was about 5 years old or older. Steven stated that the vehicle left when he approached it. Steven then locked the residence and left. He stated that when they left they noted that the same vehicle was circling the block. Goto Too of RM>OO
