Remove all parts and hardware packages from the carton. Lay out parts and hardware and dentfy usng the llustratons on pages 3 and 4. NOTE: Not all of the suppled parts and hardware wll be needed for one partcular tractor. Unneeded tems may be dscarded after assembly has been completed. INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRACTORS WroTHSINGLE FRONT DECK SUSPENSION BRACKET STEP 2: (SEE FIGURE 2) Remove the tractor hood. Refer to your tractor owners manual for nstructons on how to properly remove the hood.,, Remove the brownng sheld from the front of the tractor as shown. Hold onto the sheld as you remove the second bolt to prevent t from fallng. NOTE: Renstall the brownng sheld before usng your tractor. NOTE: Rght hand (RH) and left hand (LH) are determned from the operator's poston whle seated on the tractor. CAUTION: Do not begn assemblng untl the tractor engne, muffler and exhaust deflector have been allowed to cool off. STEP : (SEE FIGURE ) Look under the front of your tractor. If there s a sngle mower deck suspenson bracket located underneath the mddle of the front axle, contnue on to step 2. If your tractor does not have a mower deck suspenson bracket underneath the mddle of the front axle, skp to step 4 on page 6 for tractors wth dua! suspenson brackets. FIGURE 2 STEP 3: (SEE FIGURE 3), Fasten the R.H. hanger bracket (bend facng out) to the holes ndcated n the tractor frame. If there s an engne mountng plate lke the one drawn wth dotted lnes, use large /2" flat washers (M) as shms between the hanger bracket and the tractor frame n the locatons shown. In the front three holes use three 3/8" x " carrage bolts (H), two targe /2" washers (M) f needed, and three 3/8" nylock nuts (L). In the rear hole use a 5/6" x " carrage bolt (F), a large /2" washer (M) f needed, and a 5/6" nylock nut (K). Tghten all bolts. Repeat for the LH. hanger bracket. NSTRUCTONS FOR TRACTORS WITH DUAL FRONT DECK SUSPENSmON BRACKETS STEP 4: (SEE FIGURE 4) Compare your tractor to the llustratons shown Jn fgure 4. If your tractor resembles the top llustraton, go to step 5. If your tractor resembles the bottom llustraton, go to step 7. TYPE A FRONT SUSPENSION BRACKET STEP 6: (SEE FIGURE 6) Attach the R.H. hanger bracket to the two front empty holes on the rght sde of the tractor frame usng two new 3/8" x " hex bolts (D), 3/8" lock washers (L), and 3/8" flat washers (N) as shown. For the rear hole, use a 3/8" x " hex bolt (D), 3/8" lock washer (L) and 3/8" flat washer (N) wth a large /2" washer (M) placed between the hanger bracket and the tractor frame. Tghten. STEP8: (SEEFIGURE8), AttachtheR.H.hangerbracket tothethreehole shown onthesdeofthetractorframeusngthree3/8"x "hex bolts(d).3/8"tockwashers(r)and3/8"fatwashers. Use3/8"nylocknuts(L)onnsdeofframefboltsnsert freelyntoholes.tghten., Repeat forothersde. NOTE:Usespecal3/8"x "threadformngbolts(g)nany holesthataretoosmallforregularbolts. STEP 0: (SEE FIGURE 0), Assemble the pvot support bracket to the angle support brackets usng four 3/8" x " hex bolts (D) and four 3/8" nylock nuts (L). Do not tghten yet. Tghten the 4 bolts fastenng the angle support brackets to the hanger brackets. Assemble the second angle support bracket to the second from the bottom set of holes n the hanger brackets usng two 3/8" x " hex bolts (D) and 3/8" nylock nuts (L). Be sure the brackets are turned as shown. Do not tghten yet. STEP : (SEE FIGURE ), Assemble the two angle lock bars together as shown n fgure 6. so that a!l holes are algned. Use one 3/8" x ol/4" carrage bolt (E) and one 3/8" nylock nut (L). Be sure to nsert bolt from sde ndcated. Do not tghten at ths tme., Hold the angle lock bars so that the square holes are at the top= Insert the straght hook end of the angle lock sprng through the small mddle hole n both angle lock bars= 3/8" NYLOCK NUT (L) 3/8" x -/4" CARRIAGE BOLT (E} % X3/8" x HEX BOLT (D)_ / 38" NYLOCK NUT (L) / ANGLE SUPPORT BRACKET ANGLELOCK BARS ANGLE LOCK SPRmNG FIGURE 9 FIGURE (Rght Hand Sde Vew) 7

STEP!2: (SEE FIGURE 2). nsert the round hook end of the angle lock sprng up through the hole n the sprng mount bracket. nsert the angle lock bars down through the slot n the channel. Underneath the channel, place a " long spacer (U) on each sde of the angle lock bars and nsert a /4" x 3ol/4" bolt (A) through the channel, angle lock bars and the spacers. Secure the bolt wth a /4" nylock nut (J). Tghten so that lock bars can pvot freely. At ths tme tghten the 3/8" carrage bolt and hex nut prevously assembled to angle lock bars. NOTE: When the angle lock bars are pulled back n slot, the pvot plate should unlock and be free to 3vot to the rght or left poston. STEP 4: (SEE FIGURE 4), Assemble a 3/8" x ol/4" carrage bolt (E) through the square hole n the cable mount bracket and through the square hole n the angle lock bars. (The carrage bolts should face n opposte drectons.) Usng plers hold the cable mount bracket n poston, anglng down towards the LH. hole n the channel as shown n fgure 0. Secure wth a 3/8" nylock nut (L). Tghten. Refer to the fgure for the correct angle for the cable mount bracket. ALUGN 38" x -/4" CARRmAGE BOLT (E) CABLE MOUNT BBACKE ANGLE L.B. Insert the other end of the sprng mount rod through the pvot plate usng the rear set of holes. Support the assembled end of the sprng mount rod on a block of wood, and assemble the remanng palnut onto the other end of the rod. STEP 5: (SEE FIGURE 5). Assemble one 5/6" jam nut (I) approxmately 3/4" onto threaded end of control cable that has no rubber cap or preassembled nuts. Assemble threaded cable end through round hole n cable mount bracket and secure wth another 5/6" jam nut (I). Tghten. NOTE: Some adjustment of jam nuts may be requred after blade assembly s completed. PmVOT SHAFT 3/8" HEX NUT (BOTTOM) X BLADE NOTE:Makesurethecablemountbrackets algned wththecableendfttngtopreventbndngof cable.the otherendofthecontrolcablewltbeattachedna later step. Attach the channel assembly to the tractor by placng the end of the channel assembly up nsde the pvot support bracket on the tractor. Algn the hole n the pvot support bracket wth the second hole from the end n the channel assembly. Insert the channel pvot pn through the algned holes from the left sde and secure wth a harpn cotter (O). STEP 7: (SEE FIGURE 7), To attach the blade to the channel assembly, algn the notched holes n the pvot plate wth the notched holes n the blade, nsert a /8" x ol/4" cotter pn (P) down through the hole at the bend n the blade pvot shaft. Spread the ends of the pn. From the left sde nsert the blade pvot shaft, bend facng top of blade, through the notched holes. Secure the shaft wth another /8" x ol/4" cotter pn (P) through the end hole n the shaft. Spread the ends of the pn. PmVOTSUPPORT BRACKET /2" WASHER (Q) CHANNEL PmVOTPUN Remove the plastc cap and one 3/8" hex nut from the bolt n the blade adjust sprng. Adjust the remanng 3/8" hex nut down approxmately " onto the bolt threads. Hook the sprng over the sprng mount rod. Place the bolt up through the hole n the top edge of the blade and reassemble the other 3/8" hex nut to the bolt and tghten down aganst the top edge of the blade. STEP 2: (SEE FIGURE 2) Assemble plastc grp onto lock release grp assembly. Attach tock release grp assembly to lft handle tube usng one 5/6" x ol/2" hex bolt (C) and one 5/6" nylock nut (K). Do not overtghten the nut. The grp assembly must pvot freely.. Assemble the bal! end of the cable to a cable end fttng as you dd to the other end of the cable. Secure the cable end fttng to the weld bolt on the lock release grp wth a /4" nylock nut (J). Do not overtghten the lack nut. STEP 22: (SEE FIGURE 22) Place the end of the blade pvot rod down through the blade pvot shaft. Attach the other end of the blade pvot rod to the lft handle tube. Secure both ends wth a harpn cotter (O). The holes for the harpn cotters should be parallel to the ground. Use the two plastc tes to hold the cable securely to the outsde of the handle tube and away from the tractor to avod drect heat from the tractor muffler.. Squeeze the grp assembly to check blade pvot. To adjust, see Servce & Adjustments secton on p. 3. Connects the lock release lever to the angle lock bars. HOW TO USE YOUR SNOW BLADE To Rase or Lower the Snow Blade, Use the handle grp located on the end of the handle tube. To rase the blade, pull back whle pushng down on the handle grp= To lower blade, pul! back whle lftng up on handle grp. PULLBACK AND LFT UP TO LOWER BLADE To Pvot the Blade Rase the blade to transport poston. To unlock the blade, push the lock release grp down aganst the handle tube. To pvot the blade, keep the grp depressed and push forward or put! back on the handle tube, sldng t along the lft rod. To Adjust Blade Sprng, The tenson of the blade adjust sprng may be altered to permt the blade to tlt forward to bypass sold obstructons. To change the sprng tenson, adjust the nuts at upper end of the sprng bolt. Standng n front of blade, turn the nuts counterclockwse to releve tenson and clockwse to ncrease tenson. Refer to fgure 7 on page 9. To Adjust the Blade Pvot Lock Mechansm f the blade wl! not unlock and pvot, the angle lock bars are not dsengagng from the slots n the pvot plate. To correct, adjust the 5/6" hex jam nuts to draw the end of the control cable back towards the cable mount bracket= The less the threaded end of the cable extends through the bracket, the more the angle lock bars can retract to dsengage from the slots n the pvot plate. TO Adjust Blade Shoes, The blade shoes at the ends of blade may be rased for close work on smooth surfaces or lowered to rase the blade to work on rough or uneven areas. Make sure both shoes are set evenly and that the nuts are tghtened securely. Lubrcate all pvot ponts and all ponts shown n fgure 25, page 2 n the mantenance secton., Store n a dry area, protected from weather. TO Remove Blade From Trsctor, Lower the blade to the ground wth the blade n the center (straght ahead) poston., Remove the harpn cotter whch fastens the blade pvot rod to the blade pvot shaft. See fgure 22 on page 0. Remove the harpn cotter whch fastens the lft handle rod to the lft lnk pn. See fgure 9, page 0. Remove the harpn cotter from the channel pvot pn and remove the pvot pn from the channel assembly. See fgure 8 on page 9. Remove the blade, the channel assembly and the lft handle assembly from the tractor. The brackets assembled to the tractor frame may be left n place., To remove the brackets assembled to the tractor frame (sde plates and pvot support brackets) refer to the fgures approprate for your tractor on pages 5-7. If the sde plates are removed from the tractor frame, be sure to reassemble any bolts that were removed from the frame. Refer to fgures and 3 on page 5. 3
