Dear Parents/Caregivers The Year 9 Melbourne Tour is fast approaching and the students are excited. There are some details to complete but the bulk of the planning has been done. The teachers attending the tour are Jodie O Donnell, Jacob Crate and Geoff Sullivan. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS We are staying at the SPACE HOTEL while in Melbourne. The SPACE HOTEL is located close to major tram lines, the main means of transport during our stay in Melbourne. The hotel will provide a cooked breakfast each day, as well as packed lunches. We will dine at the Universal Restaurant in Lygon Street on the Wednesday night (included in the price) and we will eat our other two dinners within the hotel (all included in the price). However, there are a lot of great food choices in Melbourne, so students may wish to bring extra money to try some of these foods. COST The anticipated cost for the trip is $825 per student, which covers: Flights Accommodation and most main meals. They will need money for lunch on the first day or bring a packed lunch. Bus, train and airport transfers Entry to the major attractions listed below Dinner at Universal Restaurant Bus from Victor Harbor Campus to the airport drop off only. Parents will be required to collect their child from the airport on Friday 13 April. Our plane is due to land at 3:30pm in the Virgin terminal. Continued overleaf

DEPARTURE DETAILS - TUESDAY 10 APRIL Coach transport from the Victor Harbor Campus to Adelaide Airport on Tuesday has been arranged with the departure time of 8:00am. Students are required to be at the Victor Harbor Campus by 7:30am so luggage can be loaded. If you are taking your son/daughter to the airport on Tuesday morning, please ensure you are at the Virgin Airlines check-in area at 10:30am to meet the rest of the travelling group. Students will need their student ID cards to board the plane. Please indicate how your son/daughter will be travelling to the airport on the reply slip attached and return this to the College by FRIDAY 23 MARCH. CLOTHING We are asking students to wear their College Sports top with smart casual pants or shorts for travelling to Melbourne and the return trip to Adelaide. This is to make identification of the Investigator College students simpler at both Adelaide and Melbourne Airports. During the rest of the trip, students will be able to wear smart, appropriate, casual clothing. We will be doing a lot of walking, so sensible and comfortable footwear is recommended. A detailed packing list is attached to this letter. FURTHER REQUIREMENTS Students should bring a day pack that they can use to carry their lunch, a drink bottle, camera and personal items while they are out and about. If students wish to buy drinks, nibbles, ice creams and the like, we suggest that $20 - $30 a day would be more than enough. This should include money to purchase lunch. This amount is up to each family to decide. There will be opportunities to shop for souvenirs at the attractions we visit, and at the Queen Victoria Market on the Thursday morning. If students wish to take up this opportunity, they may want to bring along some extra money. Students will need to be responsible for their own money and any other items of value. MOBILE PHONES & DEVICES Although we are not encouraging students to take mobile phones, they are a valuable means of communication and important if someone is separated from the group. All students will be given the College contact number. We ask that students phone numbers be given to Mrs Jodie O Donnell in case the teachers need to make contact over the four days. We also understand that many students use their phones as cameras and so will use them to record the trip. There will be times when students will have down time so if they want to bring an ipod they are able to do so at their own risk. FLIGHT INFORMATION Students will need their student identification card to board the plane Our flight to Melbourne is with Virgin Airlines and is flight VA218 which departs Adelaide at 11:35am and arrives in Melbourne at 1:25pm. Our return flight to Adelaide is also with Virgin Airlines, flight VA229. We check in at Melbourne Airport and depart at 2:25pm arriving back in Adelaide at 3:30pm. Parents are required to arrange their own travel arrangements from Adelaide Airport to home. Continued overleaf
