Despite his condition, Moncho helps the basketball team by assuming multiple roles. From being the waterboy, to changing the towels, to encouraging the team in every practice session and game, Moncho is a part of the basketball team. Taking Safety to the Next Level in the Dominican Republic In an effort to take safety awareness to the next level, the Road Transport team in the Dominican Republic held a session with the Sol Road Trailer Wagon (RTW) drivers and their spouses, in order to educate them and emphasize the importance of adequate rest before shift work. Audiovisual representations were used to inform attendees of the main causes of fatigue and importance of sufficient rest. The session was held at our Haina Road Transport facilities and had a great turn out. In addition, some of the spouses even shared tips on how they support the drivers in order for them to get the necessary rest at home. The session was fruitful, with the drivers and spouses being both attentive and cooperative and leaving the session feeling more knowledgeable.
Sol Grenada s Health Walk On June 26, Sol Grenada supported the Sol Health Walk in collaboration with the Gouyave Improvement Committee (GIC). In an effort to engage and support Health and Safety Executive (HSE) initiatives and activities, Sol Grenada has sponsored this particular event for the third year of the GIC s calendar and the participation continues to grow. This year, there were over 400 persons attending this event who participated in a warm up exercise session at the Coteau Mele Junction. They were then briefed on healthy lifestyles and eating practices during the event. The walk was indeed a triumph as Sol Grenada s participation reiterated our company s commitment to serving the community in which we operate. Participating in the walk allowed us to take advantage of an excellent opportunity to increase our brand s recognition.
Sol Grenada Supports the Home of Protein from Waste Society The Sol Grenada Operations team, being guided by the HSE mandate, has supported the non-governmental organisation (NGO) renewable energy/waste recycling initiative, The Home of Protein from Waste Society. Located at Perseverance, St. George, Grenada, the society has embarked on a waste production project, which has proven effective. The project has produced animal feed and manure from waste produce received at the Perseverance Landfill, as well as other suitable waste from other companies. Sol Grenada supports this initiative through the provision of waste-oil for fuelling the boilers. Sol s contribution is essential for the production process and simultaneously minimises the need to source costly, external waste-oil removal services. We welcome your input as we grow the Sol brand.
