Several opportunities are fast approaching that will allow us to get our cars out. First, we are planning a Poker Run after our breakfast in February. Another opportunity happens next month. We have arranged an historical tour and silent movie with an accompanying organ at the iconic Circle Cinema Theater. Our own club member, Phil Judkins, was instrumental in bringing back and restoring the original organ to this venue. This will involve a $5.00 fee. The building was built the same year as the first Model A. 1928. Our Model A s will look great parked in front of this historical building. We are planning to have breakfast on the second Saturday of March in order to take the rare opportunity to enjoy this. Therefore, there will be no breakfast on March 5, but we will meet on March 12 at Maxwells, located inside the Campbell Hotel at 2636 E. 11th in Tulsa. We will then caravan for a short drive to the Circle Cinema. Mark your calendars! Did everyone enjoy our new meeting place at the Hardesty Library? We had a good attendance and some favorable comments. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Jerry

Nuts & Bolts (Or Miscellaneous Tidbits) by Ken Brust Well, it appears Jerry and our new Board have us off to a good start for the new year. Attendance at the monthly breakfasts and meetings continues to be strong whether it is snowing or not! We are a hardy bunch just like our cars! After our breakfast on Saturday, February 6, at the new Reasor s dining area on Peoria, there is a Poker Run scheduled. Should be another fun and interesting outing. Our Tulsa club is nearing its 50th anniversary. Anyone have ideas as to how we should celebrate? Talk with a Board member and let s plan a big shindig. Speaking of anniversaries, Don House just received his 40-year pin from MAFCA while Ralph and Connie received their 30-year pins. Congrats to these Model A enthusiasts! The Tuesday morning coffee group recently attracted a new attendee, Don House, changing it from the Dirty Dozen to the Baker s Dozen. All are welcome anytime, so stop by on Tuesday around 7:30am and enjoy the camaraderie. The DuValls won the most miles driven award this past year. Well done to them and to all who drove more than 1,000 miles in their A. They and the Jacksons traveled with the Model A Touring Club last October on a tour of Yellowstone and areas out west. They plan to talk about that trip at our next club meeting. The Model A Touring Club is planning a tour in Portugal and Spain in 2017, which would really be a fun adventure. The tour club is also planning a trip along the entire stretch of Route 66 in 2018, so we should see them passing through Tulsa in a couple of years. Marvin, Rich, Jerry and I have been asked by the Board to help plan activities after our monthly breakfasts. If anyone has an idea for a local drive around the area that would be fun and interesting, talk to one of us. Rich announced at our January meeting that our spring tour in April is to Guthrie. Sounds good and I heard the fall tour may be in OKC. We haven t seen much of that central area of our state recently. Marvin also announced that several cars plan to drive down to Texas for the Texas Tour this coming June. We ve been to the neighboring states of Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas during the past few years, so it must be time to venture south into Baja Oklahoma. Want to join in? The original Universal Ford dealership building, built 99 years ago in what is now known as the Brady District, has been remodeled and recently conducted its grand opening. Our club helped by having two Model A s parked all day in front of the new building to add flavor to the festivities. Happy Trails to You. The Rumble Sheet - 2 - FEBRUARY 2016
