July 2018 A Message from Our President My Fellow Fagowees, Renae and I just returned from a trip with the DC Fagowees over the past weekend. The trip was supposed to be a float trip on the Shenandoah River in Virginia. We arrived at Watermelon Park on Friday afternoon and saw the Shenandoah overflowing into the campgrounds. Luckily the Fagowees had set up there tents and trailors far enough back in the campground so the flooding didn t reach. Once there, we met everybody and partaked in a Mexican themed dinner. We had plenty of tacos to eat and Margaritas to drink. Saturday morning we were treated to a fantastic breakfast that included a few (or quite a few) Mimosas. Then the drinking really started since we weren t allowed out on the river. Most of the participants decided to take there floatables and lawn chairs and sit in the overflowing river for most of the afternoon (bad sunburn). That night we had another fantastic dinner. All in all for the river float to be a wash out (bad pun) it turned out to be a lot of fun. (except for my sunburn). Whenever you get a chance, check out what trips the DC Fagowees are offering. I have now been on two of their trips. Each one has been a blast! Don t forget, we have an informal meeting coming up on Tuesday, July 3 rd! We will be at the patio between the Georgetown restaurant and Vosh in Lakewood. Our regularly scheduled formal meeting is Tuesday, July 17 at the Parma VFW Hall. I hope you have signed up for the Whitewater rafting trip on the Youghiogheny River in Ohiopyle, PA. The dates are July 6 to July 8. The trip includes 2 nights of camping, and an afternoon of rafting on the mighty Yough, in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. I think Bill said the over/under on me was 8 this year. After we get back from the rafting trip we will do a different kind of float trip on Wednesday, July 11. We will be going on the BrewBoats through the Flats. Check out these flyers later in the Happening. The bike trips have started again this year! They happen every Monday night starting at 6:15 PM. Each Monday night is a different route. Come on out! Golfing continues on Wednesday nights. Tee off times are at 5:45 PM. Also join us for a golf outing on Sunday, July 29 th. The outing will be a scramble at Royal Crest golf course in Columbia Station. After the scramble we will have a cook out including hot dogs, brats, and hamburgers. I hope to see you out somewhere! Cheers!!! Don The Newsletter of the Cleveland Fagowees

For the month of July, we have a delightful and cheerful person receiving this acknowledgment! She recently came back into the club and grabbed onto a position on the board. She has not only taken on the board position but went above and beyond the call. She hosts dinners at our meeting to help with raising money for trips and the new kegerator the club now has! She has served our time in our country s military and has been a huge part in the location we now call home. Congratulations, Ivette Vinicky!
