Key messages Extensive strategic planning 32 consultations were held with all branches and key partners involved Initial discussion to increase branch coverage across Scotland 82% of population is served by a branch at present 33 Paralympians in Rio across 9 branches
Support for Branches: Funding, recruitment, administration, mentoring 173 young disabled people have attended SDS Para sport development days 57 new athletes and players have progressed into regional squads 54% of SDS Academy athletes identified and supported through the SDS Regional Manager Structure SDS Summer Camp in Badaguish, Aviemore, 35 participants 21 National Championships across 8 sports in SDS Events Calendar Branch, Local & Regional
Sammi Kinghorn won 2 x Gold (T53 100m & 200m WR) and a bronze (400m) at the IPC World Athletics Championships 2017. Stef Reid won gold in the T44 long jump Maria Lyle won double bronze (T35 100m and 200m) Scottish curlers won bronze in 2017 WCF World Championships confirming qualification for Winter Paralympic Games. 10 Scottish athletes, in 4 sports, represented GB at 2017 Deaflympics in Turkey returning home with 9 medals, 83% of GB total! Gavin Drysdale returned from the CPISRA Race Running World Championships 2017 with four golds & 2 World Records & Kerry Mathers won bronze 6 Scots medal at GB Boccia Championships. Clean sweep in BC3 section. Gold & bronze in BC4 section. Progress & Perform
Gordon Reid reached world number 1 & completed a career Grand Slam of men s doubles titles, winning Wimbledon. Scots win silver at 2018 Gold Coast Bowls Test Event: Irene Edgar & David Thomas & Robert Barr & Sarah-Jane Ewing in Mixed Pairs 2017 IBBA World Championships: Irene Edgar & Director David Thomas (silver), Billy Edgar & Gerry Blasby (bronze) Fiona Scotland & Bob Scotland (bronze). 7 Scots won medals at UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Aileen McGlynn & pilot Louise Haston (2 x silver), Neil Fachie & Craig McLean (silve & bronze) Alison Patrick & Helen Scott (silver & bronze), Scottish pilot Hazel McLeod (silver). Progress & Perform
Martin Perry won a bronze medal in the Class 6 Team event at the 2017 World Para Table-Tennis Team Championships in Slovakia. Karen Darke won gold at the 2017 ITU Paratriathlon World Cup in Iseo-Franciacorta in Italy. Scottish guide Brett Wild, alongside Millie Knight, won Great Britain's first-ever gold at the 2017 World Para Alpine Skiing Championships. The duo also won double silver in the Combined and Giant Slalom events. Derek Rae finished third in the T45/T46 class at the World Para Athletics Marathon World Cup. Progress & Perform

Key Findings Branches were positive about the support provided and identified with the regional Development Mangers and National Opportunities Staff as the key contacts, however; Need to continually improve communication especially regarding High Performance Role Models Need to continually improve dissemination of information as too many don t knows
