ENVIRONMENT & TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TRAFFIC NEWS Friday 25 th March 2016 to Friday 1 st April 2016 The following is a summary of road works and temporary road closures for the above dates which may cause disruption to traffic or inconvenience to the public. *** ** 1916 CENTENARY The official state 1916 centenary commemoration will centre around Easter Sunday, 27 th March 2016. In order to facilitate this and other commemorative events, no works will be permitted on O Connell Street between 8 th March 2016 and 24 th April 2016 (both dates inclusive). In addition, no works will be permitted on O Connell Bridge, Westmoreland Street and College Green between 8 th March 2016 and 3 rd April 2016 (both dates inclusive). TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES 1916 Easter Rising Commemoration Events Location A: O Connell Street from 0.00hrs on Friday 25 th March 2016 to 24.00hrs on Sunday 27 th March 2016. NOTE: O Connell Street will remain closed until 23.00hrs on Monday 28 th March 2016 for the RTE Reflecting the Rising event. St. Stephen s Green South, West & North (Dawson Street to Grafton Street), and Earlsfort Terrace (Hatch Street to Leeson Street) from 03.00hrs to 21.00hrs. Merrion Square South & East, Fitzwilliam Street Lower and Mount Street Upper from 03.00hrs to 23.00hrs. Traffic Management Plan Major road diversions will be in place over the Easter long weekend due to temporary road closures in the City Centre, especially on Easter Sunday. Diversions will also be in place on Easter Monday at wreath laying ceremony locations, and diversions again on Tuesday 29 th March, due to temporary closure of Beresford Place for Liberty Hall Ceremony. Traffic on Arran Quay travelling north and east will be diverted via Church St, Constitution Hill, North Circular Rd, Portland Row and Amiens St. Traffic on North Wall Quay travelling south will be diverted via City Quay Lombard St, Westland Row, Merrion Sq North and Mount Street Lower. 2

Local access will be maintained except on Easter Sunday for O Connell St when restrictions will apply. Closed to facilitate Luas Cross City works. Traffic on Bolton Street wishing to travel on Dominick Street Upper will be diverted via Dorset Street Upper, St Marys Place North and Mountjoy Street. Traffic on Constitution Hill wishing to travel on Western Way & Dominick Street Upper to Bolton Street will be diverted via Church Street Upper and King Street North. Dominick St Lower will be one-way system from Dorset Street to Parnell Street Traffic on Parnell Street wishing to travel on Dominick Street Lower to Dorset Street will be diverted via Parnell Square West and Granby Row. Vehicular access to Suffolk Street & Grafton Street (from Nassau Street to Duke Street) will be maintained via St Andrew Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained. LUAS WORKS (On-going) Abbey Street College Green The College Green Bus Corridor operates from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday. During these hours, only buses, taxis and bicycles can travel through College Green. The corridor will remain open to all vehicles outside of these hours, including all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
