REGISTRATION INFORMATION Registration is open to all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers as well as present and past Scouters. All units and families should register using forms available in this packet. Additional forms are available at the Graves Service Center or on the Council website (www.coronadoscout.org). Once registered for Centennial Camp, a packet will be distributed at the October Roundtable. In the packet you will find your wristbands, patches, maps of the event for each registrant, and general event and check-in/check-out information. Registrations on or before August 16 will be guaranteed camping space and event patches at check-in. Those after the deadline will still receive patches but will be on a first come-first serve basis. Car-pooling is highly recommended in order to maximize the on-site parking and for the safety of all participants. You must register by unit (not individually) for Centennial Camp. There is a one-time unit fee to register your unit. Participant fees are tiered based on weekend, one-day or general admission passes. The deadline for early payment is August 16. Scouts that join after that date up until September 23 will be charged the early bird fee if the registration is accompanied by a BSA membership application. All participants must register, including parents, family members, and leaders. Additional costs will be incurred for some activities (see program section for details). Unit Fee - This is a one-time fee. Those received by the early bird deadline will receive a Leader s Recognition item. Weekend Pass - This pass applies to anyone camping overnight. It includes entrance to all activities and events. Registered Scouts will be given preference to programs or activities with limited capacity. Saturday Only Pass - This pass is for those who attend on Saturday only. It has the same restrictions as the Weekend Pass. General Admission Pass - This pass provides access to camp-wide activities and exhibits only. Event patch is not included. The Boy Scout and Venturing Camping areas are for registered youth and their adult leaders only. Siblings and other family members must camp in the Cub Scout Family Camping Area. CHECK-IN PROCEDURES - EARLY TRAILER DROP-OFF 4 Any unit unable to get to the Centennial Camp weekend early due to travel distance may bring the trailer to Salina on Saturday, October 2 from noon to 4 PM. Citywide Storage on North Ohio Street will store your trailer in a secured area for you until Friday, October 8. On Friday, commissioners will transport your trailer to the Centennial Camp site and park it in the trailer lot. When you arrive at Centennial Camp, your trailer will be waiting for you. If interested in this service, you must call the Program Secretary at the Graves Service Center at (866) 950-7750 prior to September 30.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION CHECK-IN PROCEDURES - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8 Upon arriving at Centennial Camp, you will be directed by signs that will guide you to the Bicentennial Center. At the Bicentennial Center, registration staff will check you into the event, give you any registration materials needed, and collect any forms. Youth and adults will make a short walk to their site with their personal gear. One vehicle for unit supplies will be allowed to drive to the camping areas. This is for traffic and pedestrian safety. Special lots will be designated for troop trailers near the troop camping area. Boy Scout Troops will be directed to their district headquarters tent where the Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster will check the troop in. District campmasters will guide your troop to your campsite. Sites will be pre-assigned so you must check in with the district headquarters. Camping sites will be based on the total number of weekend passes with paid registration using the National BSA standards. Cub Scout Packs may camp overnight. The BSA guideline for youth/adult ratio of 1:1 will apply. Packs will be directed to the Cub and Family Camping area. The Cubmaster will check in with the area campmasters who will be able to direct you to your site. Sites will be preassigned based on your registration count. Venture Scouts will be directed to the Venture camping area. The Crew Advisor and President will check the crew in at the headquarters where area campmasters will direct you to your site. Sites will be pre-assigned based on your registration count. EVERY UNIT MUST FIRST CHECK IN AT THE BICENTENNIAL CENTER. CHECK-IN PROCEDURES - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9 Upon arrival, all vehicles will be greeted at the entrance to the Bicentennial Center. You will then be directed to the parking area. If the parking lots on site are full, you will be directed to overflow locations where a shuttle bus will transport you back to Centennial Camp. Once parked, you will register at the Administration Center located in the Bicentennial Center where you will receive your wristbands or other information. If you have pre-registered and have your wristbands and other information, you will be able to bypass this step and go enjoy the activities. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. No one will be allowed to participate in any activity unless they have a wristband. 5

IMPORTANT INFORMATION IDENTIFICATION At all times each attendee MUST wear the wristband event ID that will be provided to you at the October Roundtable (if pre-registered) or at the event. These bands serve as your entrance to all the activities and ensure that everyone that is at the event is allowed to be there. Security for the event will be looking to make sure each attendee is wearing their wristband. Those that are not will be directed back to the Administration Center to register. Wristbands will be color coded denoting the age or category of each participant (Tigers, Cubs, Webelos, Scouts, Ventures, Adults, Siblings). Access to the activities will be based on your wristband to ensure age appropriate participation. The Centennial Camp Program Committee is guaranteeing each age level will have numerous activities available to them. Replacement bands will be subject to verification of payment. It is important that each attendee wears their wristband for the entirety of the event. RULES The Scout Oath, Scout Law, Law of the Pack and the Outdoor Code serve as the rule book for all Scouting events. In addition, the following rules must be observed: No Sheath knives, personal firearms, or fireworks of any kind will be allowed at Centennial Camp (in the possession of youth or adult). Any of the above items discovered by camp staff will be confiscated until the unit checks out with their campmaster Sunday morning. No alcoholic beverages, illegal or illicit drugs will be tolerated. Anyone, youth or adult, found to be in possession of these items will be turned over to law enforcement. Drivers and passengers must wear seat belts at all times while riding in a vehicle. No persons in cargo beds or sitting loose in vans. We ask that all leaders assist us in enforcing these policies. We encourage leaders to take one additional step toward setting a good example for the youth of our council. Please give serious consideration on taking a weekend break from use of all tobacco products. Young minds are impressionable and Scouting youth frequently look to their leaders as role models. 6

IMPORTANT INFORMATION WHAT TO BRING Troops, packs, teams, posts and crews will be responsible for their own meals during the event and should plan accordingly. Concession areas will be open during the lunch period on Saturday and the program areas will remain open during lunch. Scouts will not want to leave the fun-filled program areas to go back to the campsite to prepare meals, so we suggest using the concession area during lunch. No ground fires will be permitted, propane fires only. There will not be any disposal area for hot coals. Units are encouraged to plan easy to fix breakfasts to allow Scouts to get to the program areas as they open. In addition to troop equipment, the following list is provided to assist campers in the selection of their personal gear. Space will be restricted and you are only camping for two nights. Do not over pack. Refer to your Boy Scout Handbook for additional assistance. Annual Health and Medical Record (parts A & C) Uniform - Can wear activity shirt (Class B) during the day. Once parking is filled at the immediate Centennial Camp location, you will be directed to one of three off-site parking lots. Shuttle buses will run from these locations periodically throughout the day. A specified area has been set aside next to the campground for troop trailers providing convenient access. All other overnight vehicles will be directed to the long-term parking area. Access to the camping area will be limited to one vehicle per unit. Scouts are expected to carry in their personal gear. Please respect the guidance provided as it is intended for control and safety of all participants. Car-pooling is strongly encouraged to allow for as many people to park as close as possible to Centennial Camp. FIRST AID, MEDICAL RELEASE & WRISTBANDS A medical release form MUST be filled out for everyone attending Centennial Camp. A copy of the release is included in this leader s guide and is available on our Council website or at the Graves Service Center. Feel free to make additional copies as needed. Everyone (parents, siblings, etc.) should fill one out and carry it in their pockets. Leaders will be provided a wristband for each participant during registration. The wristbands MUST be worn at all times. This will assist in identifying participants in case of an emergency. The Health and Safety Committee will have three (3) first aid stations spread throughout Centennial Camp. The main station will be located at the Bicentennial Center and will be staffed by medical personnel. All sites will have emergency vehicles available. All cases requiring treatment should be brought to the attention of the event staff and, if necessary taken to one of the first aid stations. In the event of a medical emergency which requires the person NOT to be moved, medical personnel should be notified immediately to arrange for transportation. Arrangements have been made with Salina Regional Health Center in case of a serious accident or injury. Individuals with special medical conditions or needs should inform the medical personnel during the registration process. 11
