SESQUICENTENNIAL STYLE GUIDE FALL 2018 - FALL 2019
CELEBRATING 150 YEARS OF ST. CLOUD STATE St. Cloud State began as a small teaching college on the banks of the Mississippi River in 1869 and has grown into an institution that today serves more than 14,000 current students with alumni throughout the world. We have had great influence on the development of Central Minnesota and the state of Minnesota. The 150th logo was created to recognize the 150th anniversary of the founding of St. Cloud State University. It commemorates St. Cloud State s Sesquicentennial year and will be used from fall 2018 - fall 2019.
MISSION The Sesquicentennial at St. Cloud State University in 2019 will celebrate the University s history and accomplishments through recognition of achievement, community, educational excellence and lasting legacy. The Sesquicentennial will serve as a foundation upon which alumni, friends, the St. Cloud community along with students, faculty and staff will build upon its strong past to establish an even greater future. The Sesquicentennial will celebrate our 150-year commitment to serving the state of Minnesota and its people, while looking forward to our goal of becoming Minnesota s 21st Century Engaged University. Through our year-long series of events and initiatives, we will communicate the value and relevance of a St. Cloud State education to the region, state, nation and the world. Furthermore, St. Cloud State s Sesquicentennial will further recognize the intricate relationship between the University and the city of St. Cloud and the immense similarities in their growth and maturation during their histories. The celebration will also demonstrate the significance the University has played in the development of the Central Minnesota region and the state of Minnesota. Through our year-long series of events and initiatives, beginning in September 2018 and culminating on Sept. 15, 2019, we will communicate the value and relevance of a St. Cloud State education to the region and the state.
