This summer, our council is excited to bring you quality outdoor experiences within a safe environment. Girls will gain the skills to become Go-Getters, Innovators, Risk Takers and Leaders. Girl Scout camp is a wonderful way to make new friends, experience new adventures, and create memories that will last a lifetime. The Girl Experience Team and all of our AMAZING Volunteer Summer Camp Teams have been working hard to ensure that girls will have the most incredible outdoor experience no matter what camp she has chosen. At B2B4 2018, girls will experience basic survival skills such as shelter, water, fire, and food. Come ready to explore, discover and grow. Back2Basics is open to girls entering grades 2-12. Mandatory training for volunteers and aides is Saturday, May 26, with check in 2:00 p.m. Aides are campers with leadership roles, open to girls entering 8-12 grades and are selected according to prior experience, certification and maturity. Girls may not be placed with their entire troop or adult volunteer; request can be made but not guaranteed. No tagalongs allowed. No bus transportation. Program Aide training will be Friday, June 15 through Saturday, June 16 at Camp Bon Temps. Each girl must have an Adult volunteer at least one day at camp. Adults are not guaranteed to be placed or assigned with their camper when they volunteer at camp. Adults that will volunteer all 4 days will have a training on Tuesday, June 19 at 6 pm, in New Iberia.

Adult volunteers are essential to help with the Units. The number of girls accepted depends on the number of volunteers. Mandatory training is Sunday, July 1st from 11-3pm for aides and volunteers. Girls are placed in Units by grade level but might not be with their Troop. Daughters will not be placed with a parent volunteer. All meals will be provided. No tagalongs allowed. Refund Policy: No refunds on camp fees will be given except in the case if illness of a camper, verified by written statement from a doctor, or death of an immediate family member. We Need You! Camps are run by volunteers and they need your help. Please contact the camp director to offer your assistance. As encouragement for parents to volunteer the entire length of the camp that their child is attending, and attend camp training, those parents will be reimbursed 50 percent of the camp s cost. The reimbursement will be in the form of a check from the camp team after the close of the camp. Reimbursement will only be made for one child. In the instance that both parents volunteer for the entire camp, they can get credit for one child s entire camp fee or 50 percent of two children s fee. Financial Assistance: Limited financial assistance is available for any girl attending camp. Assistance provided covers a poriton of the camp fee.
