Andalucia and Cadiz The 4* Iberostar Royal Andalus is situated in Chiclana de la Frontera in the province of Cadiz. The hotel is located on the beautiful 6 kilometre long Barrosa beach with an on site golf course. There is plenty to see and do in Chiclana with many shops, cafes and restaurants.. The nearby city of Cadiz, capital of the province of the same name, is situated in the southwest of Andalucia and is one of Spain s best-kept secrets. Cadiz has been a seafaring, trading town for more than 3,000 years, in fact it is the oldest city on record in western Europe. Visitors to Cadiz always fall in love with the city, which combines a rich cultural heritage with an upbeat, friendly ambience. The city stands on a peninsula jutting out into a bay, which is almost entirely surrounded by water. Ascend to the top of the city s cathedral and you will almost feel like you are standing on the stern of a boat, all you can see is water. The old city is distinctly Moorish in appearance and a gem to explore with its narrow cobbled streets, beautiful plazas, fabulous fish market and numerous tapas bars. Excursions Cadiz Tour A morning excursion to Cadiz on fully air-conditioned coach with English speaking tour guide. The tour includes an accompanied walking tour of old Cadiz visiting the Roman ruins, the Cathedral, Market Hall and the Plaza de las Flores, with free time to explore or sit and watch the world go by. Sherry Tasting in Jerez A scenic coach tour followed by a walking tour around Jerez to include the Alcazar, the fortress built in the 12 th Century by the Moors, the Cathedral of Jerez, the Gallo Azul and the Market Square. There will then be a visit to a leading Bodega with a guided tour explaining the blending process followed by a tasting session of the different types of sherry. Seville Tour Seville, the capital of Andalusia is a unique, compact and relaxing city with a rich cultural heritage. Your guide will take you on a panoramic drive including the Plaza Americas and Plaza de España, which is covered entirely in decorative ceramic tiles, and the Maria Luisa Park. Then on to Seville s majestic Gothic cathedral. Built on the site of a mosque, the massive cathedral took more than a century to build. Some remnants of the original mosque remain, including the lovely Courtyard of the Orange Trees, a gate with Islamic metalwork, and the towering 12th century minaret, which is now known as the Giralda bell tower. Stroll through the old Jewish Santa Cruz Quarter with its labyrinth of narrow streets, wrought-iron grilled windows, whitewashed buildings, tiled patios.
