That means that 90% of our happiness comes from our attitude! We all can make the choice to bring more happiness and joy to our home here at University Place! It is already a happy place but we always have room for more joy! I want to share 5 ways to boost your mood and that of others! 1. Think Thankfully! Gratitude is a key factor in happiness. Think of 3 positive things to be thankful for each day. Share them with a friend and then encourage them to do the same! If you find the good things in life, then you begin to see goodness around you that you might not otherwise see. 2. Smile! The simple act of smiling sends signals to your brain that actually make you feel happier. When someone smiles at you, smile back. Make a conscious effort to smile at everyone you pass. 3. Have some fun! Laughter is medicine for the soul. Use your imagination and creativity to create times of fun. Invite a friend or two continues on next page Exceptional Senior Living

continued from front page over or pop some popcorn and laugh at your favorite TV show. 4. Talk about good things! Gossip positively. Share good stories of nice things you have seen people do or experiences you have had. Look for good everywhere and share what you see. Your influence will spread positivity everywhere! 5. Make someone s day! Do something kind for someone. It doesn t have to cost money. Tell them how nice they look or surprise a friend in a kind way. Spread compliments like flowers!!! Let s grow happiness all over University Place! It is what makes us different!!! Fifteen ents by LuGene L. There is a young man who is called 'Piano Man.' And because of his talent, I am a fan. I asked this man for a certain D. He answered, Yes, it's here with me. How much is it, how much is the fee? He said only fifteen it will be. I told him this didn't make any sense. So I reached in my purse and gave him fifteen cents! Red, White, & Bluegrass elebration Father s Day Luncheon Six Flag History On August 5, 1961, the first park of the Six Flags chain opened in Arlington, Texas. It was the first Six Flags Theme Park, but because of later acquisitions it is not the oldest park of the Six Flags chain (that particular title is held by Six Flags New England). The name 'Six Flags Over Texas' refers to the flags of the six different nations that have governed Texas: Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States of America, and the onfederate States of America. real estate developer Angus G. Wynne, Jr. originally intended to name the park 'Texas Under Six Flags but changed it when Texas citizens complained, stating 'Texas isn't 'under' anything.' That year, admission was $2.75 for adults and $2.25 for children; parking was 50 cents; hamburgers were 35 cents, and soft drinks were 10 cents. The park's first season, lasting only 45 days, ending on November 25, 1961, with over 550,000 visitors visiting the park. Six Flags Over Texas has had many firsts including the first true roller coaster - Jet Set (1967); first Log Flume - El Aserradero (1963); first Mine Train Roller oaster - The Runaway Mine Train (1966); first Freefall Ride - Texas liffhanger (later renamed G-Force and then Wildcatter) (1982); and the first theme park to feature Broadway-style shows (1961). The Texas Skyscreamer hold the record for the tallest swing ride in the world (400 ft) (debuted in 2013) and The Titan is the tallest Roller oaster (245 ft) and the fastest Roller oaster in Texas at (85 mph). The Texas Giant Roller oaster won World's Best Wooden Roller oaster of 1999.
