AMBASSADOR CHICAGO IS LEGENDARY With a storied history that includes countless celebrities as guests, the Ambassador is Chicago s original boutique hotel located in the heart of the gold coast. Built in 1926, Ambassador Chicago has been host to the who s who of the 20th and 21st centuries, attracting celebreties such as Frank Sinatra and Bill Murray. Dustin Hoffman goofed around with the bell staff, Elizabeth Taylor lounged in her self-named suite, Marilyn Monroe dazzled guests in the Pump Room, and David Bowie got glam before gigs with the Spiders from Mars. If this building could talk, it could tell tales of guests like Chicago sports caster Harry Carry (who was a permanent resident of the hotel for years) rubbing elbows with the Rolling Stones while reveling outside his guestroom. More recently, Alec Baldwin was a recent guest, and praised the hotel during his Chicago IdeasWeek presentation.

Meeting rooms can be set in boardroom, classroom, u-shape, rounds, theater or reception style. Spacious banquet rooms on the second floor interconnect to allow for larger group meetings or banquets. Our second floor rooms boast 3,750 square feet of flexible space, and can be combined in multiple configurations for up to 200 people. The indoor/outdoor terrace on the 17th floor has stunning skyline views and is available year round. Our rooms are named after the hotel s neighboring streets, which were, in turn, named for financiers, philanthropists and philosophers that have influenced and inspired the Chicago citizenry. John Jacob Astor (the namesake of our Astor Room) was, for example, one of the America s wealthiest.
