1 MERRYMEETING TRIL Head of Tide Park Trail (Tedford Road to athance Road) Topsham Length: 1.79 Miles nticipated ost: $719,000 D athance Road athance Road Section 1 connects residential neighborhoods and the village center in Topsham with Head of Tide Park in Topsham. Its proximity to the runswick-topsham ypass ( 196) positions it to provide a future connection to the popular ndroscoggin Walk in runswick using existing bicycle ramps and lanes on the ypass bridge. The southern end of this rail-with-trail section taps into a network of existing and proposed trails at Tedford Road in Topsham, providing connectivity to the Merrymeeting Trail from destinations in Topsham including the Mount rarat Middle and High Schools, the Topsham Fairgrounds and Topsham village. Tedford Road, eechwod Drive and athance Road all provide a direct, at-grade connection to the trail for bicyclists originating from adjacent residential neighborhoods. t its northern end, this trail section provides access to Head of Tide Park via a short on-road connection from its terminus at the at-grade crossing of athance Road. Head of Tide Park has recently been improved to include a hand-carry boat launch, picnic areas, and trails. The interim route on athance Road leads to Head of Tide Park and will provide a connection north to owdoinham Village until the next trail segment, 2, is in place. 24 will supplement athance Road as part of the interim route connecting Topsham Village and owdoinham Village, until such time as sections 1 and 2 are constructed. 1 learing and Grubbing 1.25 cre $6,000.00 $7,500 2 Earth Excavation 11000 Y $12.00 $132,000 3 Rock Excavation 50 Y $125.00 $6,250 4 ggregate ase 1500 Y $34.00 $51,000 5 ggregate Subbase 5800 Y $28.00 $162,400 6 Hot Mix sphalt 1500 Ton $125.00 $187,500 7 15 ulvert Pipe 200 LF $56.00 $11,200 8 24 ulvert Pipe 200 LF $65.00 $13,000 9 36 ulvert Pipe 100 LF $125.00 $12,500 10 atch asin 4 Unit $2,250.00 $9,000 12 Granite urb 75 LF $36.00 $2,700 13 Loam 6 Depth 2200 Y $8.00 $17,600 14 Seeding Method No. 1 145 Unit $70.00 $10,150 16 Pavement Markings 1 LS $4,500.00 $3,500 17 Traffic ontrol 1 LS $4,500.00 $6,500 18 Erosion ontrol 1 LS $10,500.00 $12,000 19 Mobilization 1 LS $25,000.00 $15,000 20 Signage 1 LS $6,000.00 $3,000 21 Fencing 9300 LF $22.50 $209,250 22 Retaining Wall 150 SF $90.00 $13,500 23 Pedestrian ridge 0 LF $3,250.00 $- Subtotal: $532,550 Engineering, Permitting and ontingency: $186,393 Segment Total: $718,943 Topsham 24 & Tedford Road D Section 1 connects the residential neighborhoods off Middlesex and athance Road in Topsham with Topsham Village, the ndroscoggin walk, and Head of Tide Park

2 MERRYMEETING TRIL Topsham to owdoinham Trail (athance Road to ) Topsham & OWDOINHM Length: 3.86 Miles nticipated ost: $6,970,000 &D This section of the trail connects Head of Tide Park on the athance in Topsham with Philip Mailly Waterfront Park on the Merrymeeting ay in owdoinham village, passing through forests, wetlands, and river systems. There is the potential for an at-grade connection to the trail from the end of residential Katie Lane near the athance Road terminus in Topsham. There are no road crossings on this section between athance Road and, resulting in an uninterrupted length of trail traversing scenic landscapes and unique wildlife habitat. The athance crossing will provide a dramatic view of the river for users suspended high above the water on a new, 140 foot long pedestrian bridge running parallel to the existing railroad bridge. Three wetland crossings will allow trail users to have an intimate experience of these complex ecosystems. The trail will approach owdoinham s village center on a section of double track just south of Road. s it enters the village within the waterfront park, trail users will be just steps away from owdoinham s restaurants, shops, residences, the Merrymeeting rts enter, and the amenities of Philip Mailly Park, where the town s public landing is located. s n interim route that follows athance and Fisher Roads, then turns east on 125/Main Street to connect into owdoinham s village center, will complete the connection from Topsham to owdoinham until this section of trail is constructed. 1 learing and Grubbing 2.6 cre $6,000.00 $15,600 2 Earth Excavation 23000 Y $12.00 $276,000 3 Rock Excavation 650 Y $125.00 $81,250 4 ggregate ase 3200 Y $34.00 $108,800 5 ggregate Subbase 13500 Y $28.00 $378,000 6 Hot Mix sphalt 3250 Ton $125.00 $406,250 7 15 ulvert Pipe 600 LF $56.00 $33,600 8 24 ulvert Pipe 350 LF $65.00 $22,750 9 36 ulvert Pipe 200 LF $125.00 $25,000 10 atch asin 6 Unit $2,250.00 $13,500 13 Loam 6 Depth 4700 Unit $8.00 $37,600 14 Seeding Method No. 1 320 Unit $70.00 $22,400 17 Traffic ontrol 1 LS $6,500.00 $6,500 18 Erosion ontrol 1 LS $12,000.00 $12,000 19 Mobilization 1 LS $80,000.00 $80,000 20 Signage 1 LS $7,000.00 $7,000 21 Fencing 23000 LF $22.50 $517,500 22 Retaining Wall 35000 SF $90.00 $3,150,000 23 Pedestrian ridge 250 LS $3,250.00 $812,500 Subtotal: $5,162,550 Engineering, Permitting and ontingency: $1,806,893 Segment Total: $6,969,443 D s Topsham athance rossing athance Road Section 2 crosses wetlands and rivers to connect Head of Tide Park and the residential neighborhoods near the athance in Topsham with owdoinham s village center and waterfront park
