Cares & Concerns Please keep the following in your thoughts and prayers: Karl Raabe -heart; Janet Marks minor skin cancer recovery; Dotty Weis hip surgery; Coles multiple health issues; Larry Andrews Cancer. The beanbag baseball game was played inside to avoid high winds on a sunny and comfortable afternoon. Final score was men 8, women 0. Golden Triangle Sams had their monthly May campout at a campground that the chapter has not visited for about 15 years: Lake Walena, Silver Springs. We had 12 rigs camping and one drive in: Karl & Carol Raabe. Joe & Shirley Zummo have rejoined our chapter. Dale and Phyllis Horn have purchased a new rig and joined us at Lake Walena. Thursday arrivals had a gray sky arrival as a cold front moved in. Lake Waldena is east of Silver Springs on HW 40. It has a small lake and friendly management. Thursday was a setup their rigs day. That evening some enjoyed playing games. Friday was another cloudy windy coolish day; last of the cold fronts. Members hung around the campground and talked and relaxed. Carol Griffin led a group of women doing line dancing. After a brief Happy Hour we drove to MoJo s Restaurant in Silver Springs off HW 40. We had a large group, the food was good and the company fun. A second group went to OutBack. After dinner we returned to the campground and gathered at the meeting room and played games. Saturday s breakfast was delicious pot luck dishes. At 10:00 AM, President Steve Griffin conducted the business meeting. The Okeechobee sandwich sales report was presented by Carol Griffin. We enjoyed similar results as 2016. See the meeting minutes. After Happy Hour we enjoyed another delicious pot luck dinner. Afterwards, we enjoyed deserts and had an interesting learning experience, led by Debbie Lunmark, about things that have occurred on May 1. Who knew that May 1 st was a day of so many significant events. Sunday morning was sweet things to share provided by the campground management. There was more visiting and good-byes until next September. Thanks to the hosts: Bill & Michele Mann, Dale & Debbie Lundmark and Dan & Stevie Weimer. 1
