Flatirons Ski Club March, 2018 An Outdoor Multi Sports & Social Group General Meetings are held @ the Unitarian Universalist Church 5001 Pennsylvania AV, Boulder, CO 80303 www.flatironsskiclub.com Saving Snow A Documentary Movie Monday, Feb. 26, 7pm at UUCB Church For those of us who enjoy winter sports, it s impossible to not notice the changes that global warming is already bringing to our mountains. Across the country, people who depend on winter for their livelihood are feeling the heat. On the sidelines of skiing and snowboarding, a struggle to reverse rising temperatures is unfolding. Come see how climate change is already impacting communities that depend on winter sports, from Vermont to Wisconsin and the Rockies and learn how ski towns and the snow sports industry are paving the way towards a clean energy future. The screening will be followed by a short presentation/update on the work of Citizens Climate Lobby, a nonpartisan organization working to pass national climate legislation. YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET FOR ADMISSION! Please contact Jim for Ticket Availability. FSC General Meeting is Thursday, March 1 st at 7pm HistoriCorps, a Workforce for Saving Places Location: the Unitarian Universalist Church, 5001 Pennsylvania AV, Boulder, CO 80303. HistoriCorps is a Denver-based nonprofit that engages volunteers to do the hands-on work necessary to preserve historic buildings and structures for public benefit. Volunteers are invited to spend a week chiseling, sawing, hammering, and painting incredible places back to life! Liz Rice will talk about the organization and the preservation projects, she will also bring some of the historical tools that are used.
