Wordy Worm saw the golden book, but there were two golden book barbarians guarding it. So Wordy Worm squeezed through the guards. The guards saw him. He got the book, put it in his backpack, and left. Two days later, Wordy Worm went to go see if the guards were still there. But they were wiped out. The man said he was just turning it in today. Just then, the train that Wordy Worm was riding stopped. Wordy Worm wondered what happened Just then, a voice came from a speaker at the side of the train. We have a delay, said the voice. Wordy Worm wanted to find out what happened. So that s what he did. But then, one day, a student came to get that same book. And then he opened that book and said, Hey, little bud! and let Wordy Worm free. But then, another day he came and instead of getting a book himself, he asked the boy for some help to get a book about reptiles. The boy said okay. Wordy Worm went to check the book out. The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Darian, grade 3 Once upon a time, Wordy Worm got sucked into a TV show called The Cookie Show. It started when he asked his mom, Can I watch TV? His mom said, Okay, but only for one hour. So Wordy Worm turned the TV to Candy Network. Lucky for him, Wordy Worm s favorite TV show was on. It was The Cookie Show. Then, in the middle of the TV show, the TV began to rumble. It was a wormhole to The Cookie Show and Wordy Worm went in. Once Wordy Worm was in, he jumped to the sun. Then a magic dog and a teenager with a sword came along. Wordy Worm leapt with joy. It was Finn and Jake from The Cookie Show. Wordy Worm told them how he got there and how he loved them. For some reason, Finn and Jake knew how to get Wordy Worm back home. It was pretty hard though Wordy Worm had to slay a dragon by himself. Finn gave Wordy Worm his sword. To find the dragon, Wordy Worm went to the fire kingdom. So Wordy Worm went to the fire kingdom. He didn t know where the dragon was, so Wordy Worm looked everywhere. Finally, he found the dragon. The dragon was asleep, so Wordy slayed it right away. When Wordy Worm got home, there was one minute to spare. That s when Wordy Worm decided to only read and never watch TV again. That s how he got his name, Wordy Worm.

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Colby, grade 3 Wordy loved to travel. He was always dreaming of going to visit a library. So Wordy was thinking of going to one this weekend. When Wordy arrived at the library, Wordy saw thousands of books! Wordy also saw kids and adults trying to learn to read from teachers. He knew that he himself knew how to read, so he thought, Why don t I help? When he had a chance to talk, he asked one of the teachers. He said, I know how to read. Can I help them read? Sure! said one of the kind teachers. Wordy was very pleased with the teacher. Wordy thought it was fun to teach people how to read. Wordy reviewed all of the sounds of the letters in the alphabet. The teacher saw how good of a teacher Wordy was, and she asked him if he wanted to work in the library every day doing this job. I would love to! Wordy said. Day after day, Wordy worked with his student, and two weeks later she was able to read! Wordy asked his student if she wanted to work in the library also because she can read. She said, Sure! And they worked in the library every day after that. The End

Now Wordy Worm got to read for the first time.

Wordy Worm in Storytopia, Sara, grade 1 One day, Wordy Worm went to read in the woods. He liked to read there because he could listen to the birds chirping in the calm and quiet. Wordy Worm was reading a very good book about dragons and fairy tales. Suddenly, fairy dust fell from the sky, and the woods were more like a setting from a book he had recently read. Wordy Worm looked at his surroundings and concluded he was in Storytopia. He read about this in a story called Lost in a Book. In the story, to return home, he would have to find the Sacred Spell Book. Wordy Worm started on his journey that would lead him back home. First he had to pass the River of Word-Chomping Alligators. He had no idea how he was going to get to the other side. As he was looking for some way to cross the river, he stumbled upon a tree that grew books. Wordy Worm came up with a great thought: He would throw books into the river and hop across. He picked three books from the tree, threw them into the river, and made a way to reach the other side. 1, 2, 3! Wordy Worm felt relieved to be on solid ground again. He started to walk forward so he could continue his journey. Wordy Worm was disappointed when he saw another obstacle up ahead. There was a Big Book Bear blocking the only path to the Sacred Spell Book. He was worried because he didn t know how he was going to get past. He noticed that the flowers that grew in Storytopia had books for petals. Wordy Worm picked some books to stack up and over the bear to make a bridge. He quickly went across and tiptoed away so he wouldn t wake up the Big Book Bear. As he walked a few more blocks, Wordy Worm noticed a huge floating book up ahead. He knew it had to be the Sacred Spell Book. He closed his eyes, put his hands on the book, and made a wish that he was back in the woods reading his fairy tale book. When Wordy Worm opened his eyes, that was exactly where he was. He was excited to return safely back home!

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Thomas, grade 4 Once upon a time, there was a worm named Wordy. His name gave away what he likes to do. He is a reporter. He likes to go crazy and sometimes has dangerous adventures to describe to his fellow worms in Worm-a-copia about what he has seen, heard, and written about in his adventures. The way Wordy Worm goes on his adventures is his older brother that has his pilot license flies him to his destination. Now you are probably wondering how he comes up with all these crazy adventures? Well, he leaves that to his assistant who is his cousin and a computer geek. She goes on the Wormnet (the human version is the Internet) and types in mysterious islands and she tells me about it. Then our team meets and we vote on which one to explore. Well, it is 9:00 pm, so I better get to bed. I woke up on the next morning with my cousin Alex screaming in my ear, We have found two islands that we can vote to go to. My one eye was open and the other one was closed until I heard the words two islands. Then my eyes were as big as a koala s getting woken up from his nap. I quickly jumped out of bed and got dressed because I was so excited because we haven t gone on an adventure for a very long time. When I came downstairs, there was my brother Marshall bouncing off the walls. He was as excited as both Alex and me combined. After we had breakfast, we all got packed for our trip. We climbed into the airplane and ventured on our long journey. Nine hours later, we found the island. Marshall started his landing, but then the biggest iguana popped out of nowhere and startled them all which caused Marshall to crash his plane on the hot, sandy shore. The iguana popped back into the bushes and ran away. Luckily, no one was hurt except for Alex who had a cut on her back. After everyone cleaned themselves up, Wordy Worm said that he found a cave in one of the cliffs. Alex said, So what? It is just a cave. Yeah, I know that it is a cave, but aren t you forgetting about shelter? said Wordy. OH YEAY! I totally forgot about that, said Alex. Only one problem. How are we going to get up there? It s not like we have an elevator or something, added Marshall. Just then, an elevator popped out of nowhere. Everyone started looking around, but it was still the same island. They stepped onto the elevator and it started going up. When they got to the top, they walked into the cave. They walked straight through it and they saw giant trees. There were giant reptiles and mammals. Then all of the sudden, a giant bird swooped right by them and picked up Marshall. The bird flew to its nest which was all the way on the other side of the island. How are we going to save Marshall when he is all the way across the island? asked Wordy.

I ll leave that to my jet pack! exclaimed Alex. How did you get the jet pack? Wordy wondered. Oh, I wished for it to come, she said. How did you do that? asked Wordy. Well, I figured out that if you wish for anything, it will come to you because this island is magical. When they were done talking, they got on their jet packs and flew over to where the nest was. When they saved Marshall, they went to the other side of the island. They got to the beach and Alex wished for an airplane and it showed up right in front of them. They all got into the plane and started flying home. When they got there, Wordy told the whole adventure over again from start to finish. Then they all went to bed and lived happily ever after. THE END!

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Jayden, grade 3 Once upon a time, there was a worm named Wordy Worm. One summer, Wordy Worm took a plane to see his parents. But on the way there, the plane crashed on an island named Animal Island. So Wordy Worm started walking until he met a bear and a lion and a tiger. So when Wordy Worm saw the animals, Wordy Worm darted away and said, Please don t hurt me! But the animals said, We aren t going to hurt you. We just came to help you find your mom and dad. So the bear and the lion and the tiger found Wordy Worm s mom and dad. So they all celebrated and had some food. And they all lived happily ever after.

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Kristine, grade 3 Wordy Worm was running. He saw a tree. He was happy when he saw that tree. He was happy. Then he fell down on the grass. He was crying. His mom was not there. He was sad when his mom was not there. The problem was he was not happy. He went back home. His mom was at home so he was happy. Then he went outside again. Then he went to the tree and said thank you for helping me. He was happy. Then he hugged the tree. He went back in the house. He said to his mom, Thank you, Mom. She said, You re welcome, Wordy Worm. They went for a walk. Wordy Worm and his mom were happy when they walked and talked too. Then one day, they saw a flower. Wordy Worm s mom said, I love it. We can walk and talk with it too. They went back home. His mom said, I have a surprise for you, and his mom got the flower out and put it on the table. Wordy Worm said it looked pretty when he saw it. Then he was happy. His mom was happy too and said, I love it.

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Justin, grade 3 One day, Wordy Worm went to China. Wordy needed to book the flight and get a passport. When he got that done, he packed up his suitcases. When Wordy got there, he walked to a hotel. Wordy got to go to a mall. After that, he went back to the hotel. This was the day he left. When he got on the plane, he realized he had no suitcase. He got one from the cart. The end!

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Anthony, grade 3 There was once a guy named Wordy Worm. He went on an adventure with his friends, but Wordy Worm s friends were tired of taking Wordy Worm to places. One day, his friend said, Wordy Worm, I m not going to be your friend if you won t show us around. So his friends were not his friends. One day, Wordy Worm said, I m sorry, guys. I will explore with you guys at places. Then they all lived happily ever after.

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Anthony, grade 3 One day, Wordy Worm went to a library. Then he opened a book and he fell inside one of the pages. Oh no! Help, help! said Wordy. Then he realized that it was a pretty cool book, so he walked along and came to the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. Then the big bad wolf blew the pigs house down! Then Wordy got scared, so he walked farther and he saw Humpty Dumpty. Then Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall. What if this happens to me? asked Wordy. Right when Wordy said that, a bird swooped down and tried to eat Wordy! When the bird had Wordy just about in his mouth, someone opened the book. Wordy Worm went flying out of the book, saying, Thank you! Then he walked out the library door, saying to himself, I m not going in there again! The End

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Erika, grade 3 One day, Wordy Worm went to a school. He saw the front doors were open. He decided to go in the open doors. When he went in, he saw lots of hallways. When he turned right, he heard a bell. Kids came running out of rooms. When all the kids were gone, he noticed the doors were now shut. Oh no, oh no! said Wordy. Just then, all the lights went out. He was locked in the school. Wordy started to cry. Then he heard a noise, and a bunny popped out. Who are you? said Wordy. I am Sara, said the bunny. I saw a door open and I went in. Do you know a way out? said Wordy. Yep, I do, said Sara. Soon, they were both out and Wordy Worm had found a new friend. That is the adventure of Wordy Worm.

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Madison, grade 3 One day, Wordy Worm went to Santa s workshop. As Wordy Worm walked in, he said WOW as he saw elves making Hot Wheels and snow globes. Santa walked in and said, Wordy Worm, you are on the nice list because you help kids. You were very helpful this year, Wordy, said one of the elves. (Wordy was Wordy Worm s nickname.) Wordy was still shocked about the workshop. You must be hungry, Wordy, said Santa. Wordy nodded his head and said, Yes. Oh-oh, said Santa, The sleigh is gone! Jingle, the sleigh-keeper ran up to Santa and said, The sleigh is gone! The sleigh is gone! I know, Jingle, said Santa in a disappointed way. Every year, something goes wrong, Santa said in an angry way. I ll help said Wordy. A day later, Wordy came back to help Santa. They looked in all the places it could be in. Four days went by with no sleigh. One day, Santa told Wordy to tell Jingle to make a new sleigh fast. When Wordy opened the door, he saw Jingle polishing the old sleigh. It is new! said Jingle. But it was the old one. Wordy told Santa and they lived happily ever after.

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Shaylyn, grade3 Wordy Worm is going to Hersheypark and going to ride some rides. He is going to ride the SooperDooperLooper, horses, planes, and cat ride. He and his parents are going to eat hot dogs. He was at Hersheypark and he rode Skyrush. Then there is going to be strawberry banana Splash!

The Adventures of Wordy Worm, Connor, grade 3 This is the story of Wordy Worm and Germ World. Once upon a time, there was a worm named Wordy Worm. He was quite curious and adventurous. One day, he got very sick and accidentally sneezed on himself. Suddenly, he warped to Germ World. Germ World is the place where all sicknesses are born and where germs hang out. Wordy Worm asked a germ, How do I get home? The germ pointed to a wise old talking stone. Wordy Worm went over to the talking stone and asked, How do I get home? The stone said, You must throw an overworld stone into the lake of destinations. Where is that? asked Wordy Worm. It is left of where you appeared, explained the stone. Wordy Worm did this and was finally home.
