Also, there were jugglers, stilt walkers and street magicians and a live guitarist who engaged the audiences with their entertaining acts. GVK AIRPORTS British Safety Council s five-star rating for MIAL MIAL has yet again achieved the coveted five-star rating in the recent Five Star Occupational Health and Safety Audit conducted by the British Safety Council. One of the most stringent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System Audits, MIAL underwent a detailed, quantified and objective evaluation of its occupational health and safety management system and attained a score of 96.4% as against 95.83% in 2014. AirAsia X launches Mumbai-Bali flights AirAsia X Indonesia commenced operations between Mumbai-Bali via Kuala Lumpur on 19 May, 2017. The airline operates daily services using A330-300 aircraft with 377 seats (12 premium flatbeds + 365 economy seats). A welcome ceremony was organized at the arrivals and departures which was attended by the senior management of AirAsia X Indonesia and Consulate Office of Indonesia. The key officials included Capt Sulistyo Nugroho (CEO, AirAsia X Inodnesia), Mr Soertman Doerachman (Commissioner, AirAsia X Indonesia), Mr Saut Siringoringo (Consul General, The Republic of Indonesia) and Mr Dalton Sembiring (Deputy Chief of Mission, Indonesia). With the commencement of Mumbai-Bali flight operations, Mumbai becomes the only city in India to connect two destinations in Indonesia, namely Jakarta (by Garuda Indonesia) and Bali (by AirAsia X Indonesia). Basic English speaking course for MIAL ARFF MIAL L&D department conducted a three months training program for the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting team to help sharpen their English communication skills. There were a total of 25 participants who underwent 55 hours of training that was designed keeping in mind the functional usage and requirements of the staff. On the completion of the training, an examination was also conducted to determine their proficiency in the language. The participants have also formed a WhatsApp group wherein they regularly share relevant updates that helps them enhance their skills. After the success of the first batch, L&D has also commenced the second batch.
GVK AIRPORTS International Museum Day celebrations at GVK CSIA T2 Home to India s largest public art program, Jaya He, GVK CSIA organized week-long engagement activities for the travelers at Terminal 2, to mark the International Museum Day celebrations. Drawing inspiration from this year s theme of Museums and contested Histories: Saying the unspeakable in Museums, MIAL planned a host of exquisite activities beginning May 15 th that included workshops, tours and folk/traditional musical performances. Well-known artists and architects from the city engaged with the students to enlighten them about the art and architecture in the context of India s rich culture and history. Solar farm inaugurated at GVK KIAB As part of its continuous efforts towards environment and sustainability, BIAL inaugurated the Solar Farm on May 18 th that is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emission by 3,625 tonnes per annum. The solar panels have been installed in the car park area (in front of the Corporate Office) which is of 440 kw and on the airside which is of 2.5 MW. The solar panels at the car park area will help in reducing 550 tonnes of carbon dioxide emission per annum and 3,075 tonnes of carbon dioxide per annum at the airside. Mr Hari Marar, President - Airport Operations, BIAL along with Mr Soumitra Bhattacharya, President - Bosch Group India inaugurating the Solar Farm at GVK KIAB GVK KIAB turns into a Playport To make traveling more fun and relaxing, BIAL organized Playport from May1 st to May 15 th for all the young passengers at the airport during the holiday season. Various fun and engagement activities were set up across the terminal based on the concept of Happy Experiences. Magic shows and tattoo-making alongwith some interesting games like Surfing, Kancha Returns, Knots and Crosses and Feel the Rush, a unique Virtual Reality (VR) experience of a parachute jump garnered a lot of attention. Snooker football was a hit among everyone.
GVK ENERGY Electrical Safety Week Campaign Jegurupadu CCPP A toolbox talk on Electrical Safety was organized for the contract technicians as part of the Electrical Safety Week Campaign at the plant site. The discussion highlighted various electrical equipment hazards and significance of safe work practices. Gautami CCPP Various activities and training programs on Electrical Safety were conducted for the employees, their families and the outsourced workers as part of the Electrical Safety Week Campaign held at Gautami CCPP. Mr Vikas Chandra Shukla is Head - O&M at Goindwal Sahib TPP Mr Vikas Chandra Shukla has joined Goindwal Sahib TPP, Punjab as Head - Operations & Maintenance, GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib) Ltd. He was given a warm welcome by the HODs and Section Heads including Mr D. Padmanabha Reddy - Director, Project Development, Mr John Fernandes - Director, Operations, Mr Niranjan Reddy - Sr VP, HR and Mr Diwakar K - AVP, HR Admin alongwith the entire staff at the plant site. Mr Shukla interacted with all the employees and shared his vast experience. He motivated everyone to work towards ensuring successful operations of the plant. Jaipur-Kishangarh Expressway welcomes African delegation GVK TRANSPORTATION GVK s Jaipur-Kishangarh Expressway hosted a delegation from 13 African countries at the Jaipur Plaza. Mr Ashwani Sharma- General Manager gave them a detailed presentation about the project. GVK Jaipur-Kishangarh Expressway is India s first six-lane expressway project developed under the BOT framework.
GVK HOSPITALITY Taj Krishna Bidding Farewell Team Taj Krishna bid farewell to one of its veterans Mr Syed Rahamat Hussaini, a Food Production associate. Mr Syed s association with Taj Krishna dates back to 2001. During these years, Mr Syed made some significant contributions towards various initiatives that were undertaken at the hotel. A heart-touching ceremony was also organized to honour him. Mr K Mohanchandran, Director-Operations, TAJGVK Hotels & Resorts Ltd and GM-Taj Krishna, addressed the gathering and wished him success for future endeavours. He was presented with a special memento for all his dedication and commitment. Taj Banjara Self defense workshop for women All female associates at Taj Banjara underwent a self-defense workshop at Taj Krishna to be better equipped to handle any emergency situation or a mishap. They were given practical demos on situation-handling techniques. After the training, a high-tea was also organized for them to interact with one another. Graduation ceremony for Trainees On the successful completion of their six-months training on industrial exposure, Taj Banjara organized a graduation ceremony for all the trainees recognizing their hard-work and commitment. A prize distribution ceremony was also conducted recognizing the Best Trainee, Best Groomed Trainee, Best Attendance etc. Everyone also nominated the Most Eligible Trainee amongst themselves. The HODs motivated the students with their inspiring words and at the end, a beautiful video was shared showcasing all the fun and happy moments spent together. All students were delighted with this kind gesture and took along fond memories with themselves.

The holiday season is the ideal time for kids to indulge in some fun activities and enjoy themselves. GVK EMRI PM Modi launches new ambulances in Dadra & Nagar Haveli Hon ble PM Shri Narendra Modi launched 12 new GVK EMRI ambulances in Dadra & Nagar Haveli alongwith Hon ble Administrator - UT s Shri Prafulbhai Patel and Hon ble MPs Shri Natubhai Patel and Shri Lalubhai Patel in the presence of other dignitaries. The launch of these ambulances would ensure better access in case of emergencies and thus help strengthen the emergency healthcare scenario in the UT. Good Samaritans honoured in Tamil Nadu Team GVK EMRI, Tamil Nadu recognized and rewarded the Good Samaritans whose timely intervention helped provide GVK EMRI s efficient services to those in need. Around 85 Good Samaritans were felicitated by key personnel from Medical and Rural Health Services in the presence of District Administration who called 108 during emergencies and provided timely aid to the needy and the distressed. GVK EMRI - TN organizes a session for women associates Team GVK EMRI - Tamil Nadu organized an exclusive session with the HR for all women associates from Vellore and Thiruvannamalai Districts. There were around forty participants and the session was quite a success as it gave an opportunity to come up with innovative ideas and suggestions.

World Milk Day - 1 June World Milk Day is celebrated across the world on June 1 st every year to spread awareness about nutritional value of milk and milk products for the human body. World Milk Day celebration was initiated by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in 2001 to encourage consumption of milk and dairy in daily diet. World Environment Day - 5 June World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and is celebrated on June 5 th. This year s theme, Connecting People to Nature, implores us to get outdoors and into the nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance and to take forward the call to protect the planet Earth. World Oceans Day - 8 June World Oceans Day was officially established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2008 to be celebrated worldwide on June 8 th annually. Oceans are an integral part of the biosphere and essential for food security and survival of life on the earth. The day provides an opportunity to all to combat the current challenges disrupting the ocean cycle.
