RESOURCES, ENVIRONMENT AND REGIONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN NORTHEAST ASIA 10-15 June, 2014, Changchun (2 nd Announcement) In order to foster the academic exchanges among countries in Northeast Asia and strengthen the international cooperation in the fight against the problems occurring in the regional eco-environment as well as the human society, the international conference on Resources, Environment and Regional Sustainable Development in Northeast Asia will be held in Changchun, China, from June 10 th to 15 th, 2014,which is jointly sponsored by the Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, CAS, the Pacific Geographical Institute, FEBRAS, and the Institute for Water and Ecology Problems, FEBRAS. We sincerely welcome researchers from various fields in different countries in the world to this conference to share ideas and promote the development of related disciplines. In this circular of announcement, you will be able to find some detailed information to help you plan your trip accordingly. 1. Presentation information Oral presentations: Due to time limitations, each oral presentation should be controlled within 20 minutes, including discussion. Registration Fee and Accommodation Registration Fee: The fee of 100 dollars for participants in presence and 50 dollars for post graduate students should be paid in cash at the registration. Note: the registration fee does not include the expenses of accommodation and scientific expedition. Accommodation IGA has negotiated the following two discounted hotel rates for attendees. Transportation There will be buses to pick up the participants to the hotels on June 10 th at Changchun railway station (or Changchun west railway station) and Changchun Longjia airport. Please note that participants can get the pick-up services only at the railway stations or the airport. The transportation during the conference between the hotel and the conference (if applicable) will be arranged by the organizing committee. Field Scientific Expedition The expense of the field scientific expedition is 1900RMB, which might be subjected to a tiny fluctuation because of the seasonal factors and should be paid in cash at the
registration. The schedule of the scientific expedition to the Changbai Mountain is stated as follows: June 13 th (Fri) June 14 th (Satur) June 15 th (Sun) 7:00-13:30:tansport to Erdaobaihe town 13:30-18:00: visit the Ecosystem Research Station of Changbai Mountain, CAS. Explore the Changbai mountain area, including the vertical landscape zoning, the waterfall, underground forest, the Lake of Heaven etc. Back to Changchun before 13:30. 8.
