SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER, 17 CAMPING AT CAMP CURRIER CAMPING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SHOOT-O-REE Campsites are available to your unit for both Friday night (September 29) and Saturday night (September ). Campsites will be assigned based on registration on a first-comefirst-registered basis. Campsites will be assigned according to number of persons registered. Just mark your preference on DoubleKnot, and you will be contacted prior to the event. There are a limited number of sites available. Registration does not automatically guarantee a campsite. DO NOT GO INTO CAMP WITHOUT CHECKING IN! You will receive confirmation of your campsite assignment, a map, and your parking assignment when you check in at the Dining Hall. UNLOAD AT YOUR CAMPSITE Upon arriving at your campsite, unload your vehicle from the road and move it to a designated parking area BEFORE SETTING UP YOUR TENT! This will allow others arriving later to have access to your campsite as well. Do not block the roads - unload quickly and remove your vehicle. Also, be sure when setting up your tent to allow room for the other campers to join you. Some sites could be home to several different units, or multiple individual campers. LEAVE NO TRACE Leave No Trace Camping is the practice while at Camp Currier. Please remember to remove all trash from your site when leaving, even if it s not your personal trash. DO NOT THROW YOUR TRASH BAGS IN THE DUMPSTER AT THE FRONT! The dumpster gets full and then overflows onto the ground, leaving a mess for our Camp Ranger. PLEASE take your trash with you. BURNING YOUR TRASH IS AGAINST CAMP RULES! CAMPFIRES If you do build a campfire at your site, use the supplied fire pits. Do not leave the pit in the middle of the campsite. There is a limit of one fire per campsite. DO NOT DIG HOLES OR CUT TREES. Fires must be dead out before going to sleep or when there is no adult in the campsite. When leaving, move the pit to the edge of the site. DO NOT DUMP FIRE PIT REMAINS IN THE WOODS as embers may remain and catch the leaves on fire. LATRINES & BATHROOMS Make sure your scouts act appropriately in the latrines/bathhouse. Several campsites could be sharing the same facility. Leave the latrine/bathhouse as you find it - or better!
