As many of you may have heard, we re adding a waterslide to the Family Pool in early July. This fabulous addition is the latest in a growing list of amenities designed to enhance the member experience. It s certainly a great time to be a kid at EFYCC! Several new and expanded programs and activities have also been added to the member calendar. They have been designed to appeal to a wide variety of ages and interests. Global Wine Tasting Calling All Artists We re in the early stages of planning a September art and wine event for members. If you or someone you know has artistic talent and wishes to showcase the work at such an event, please contact Susan at 421-2237. This month, we ll compare a delightful selection of wines from Australia and New Zealand. Hors d oeuvres prepared by Chef Tim will complement the regional differences and enhance the wines. It s here that EFYCC member families are encouraged to bring non-member families for a fun and social evening. Adults will enjoy Happy Hour prices on beverages while the kids enjoy splashing in the pool under the watchful eye of a lifeguard. Complimentary light hors d oeuvres and live entertainment will be featured. The Wheel House Café will serve casual fare and will be accepting cash or credit cards from guests. Featured will be three delightful dining courses, each paired with an appropriately selected Row Eleven wine. While the Chef educates all on his food preparation techniques, Craig Boggs of Row Eleven Winery, will personally share his knowledge and describe in detail the flavor notes and nuances of each presented blend. Perhaps you are making contact with the ball too far in front of yourself. Try tossing the ball less far forward and lean in more just before the swing. Director of Tennis Joe Perrone and his assistant professionals are conducting clinics throughout the summer months. Each two hour clinic is focusing on shot making and strategy. The schedule is as follows: A Level 9-11 a.m. (Monday), B-Level 9-11 a.m. (Tuesday) and C-Level 9-11 a.m. (Wednesday). Each clinic is priced at $25. Fitness News MELT Method Health Seminar & Class Join us on Monday, July 7 at 10 a.m. in the Mansion for a health seminar specializing in the new art of self-care. The MELT Method (featured on Doctor Oz) is a self-treatment technique that helps people get out and stay out of chronic pain in just ten minutes a day. By learning MELT techniques, you can better manage daily stress and increase vitality and energy. $25 per person. Those who have taken the seminar are invited to participate in the MELT Method class scheduled for Thursday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m. $20 per person. The 60-minute class led by Kristen will be held in Studio A every Monday at 6 p.m. Expect an intense cardiovascular workout designed to simulate the physical rigors of the outdoor cycling experience. The cost is $3 per person. SUP Classes The fun and thrill of Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is catching on at Epping Forest! Classes (limited to10 persons) and priced at $45 per person are conducted every Sunday at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Marina by the experts at Black Creek Outfitters. Reservations must be made by 6 p.m. Saturday before the class by calling the Fitness Center at 739-7023.
Fitness News Aqua Aerobics Join Beth in the Clover Leaf Pool every Wednesday at 9:10 a.m. for an Aqua Aerobics Class. This 60-minute nonimpact workout offers fun, shallow-water movements to improve agility, flexibility, balance and coordination while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. The class is complimentary. Sunday FUNDay at the Family Pool Every Sunday from 1-4 p.m., all members are invited to a FUN afternoon at the Family Pool. Between cannonballs and belly flops, all can dine poolside enjoying the Wheel House s casual menu of salads, sandwiches and summer-themed beverages. Also, live music will add to the excitement! Hounds in a Hurry Meet at the Fitness Center at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 31 as Kacie Cobb and her pup leads EFYCC members and their pups on a walking tour around the property. On the Docks Summer Sailing Camps The Summer Sailing Camps for Juniors continue into summer with popularity. Juniors (ages 8-17) are learning the thrill of sailing while enjoying such fun activities as treasure hunts, swimming and more. Experienced sailors will explore the river, learn advanced techniques (like sailing backwards) and participate in sailboat racing. Kids Corner Tween Night On Saturday, July 12 from 6-9 p.m., Tweens (ages 10-14 yrs.) will again gather in the Wheel House Café to enjoy an evening with friends. Expect indoor and outdoor fun, music, and games such as corn hole, ladder ball, Wii, ping pong and giant jenga. A summer cookout menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and fruit will also be featured.
