Introduction An impressive and modern hotel in the heart of Sofia. The hotel is located across the National Palace of Culture (NDK), the biggest event center in Bulgaria. Location Sofia is the capitol and largest city in Bulgaria, located in the western part of the country. It is the 15th largest city within the European Union with a population of approximately 1.2 million. The city dates back to before the 7th Century BC and is now home to many international businesses, cultural institutions and major universities. Sofia is also the country s financial hub. The Bulgarian National Bank, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, the Financial Supervision Commission as well as the headquarters of all commercial banks active in the country are located in the there. Increasingly, Sofia is becoming an outsourcing destination for multinational companies. The nearby city center is a place with a lot of tourist attractions such as Alexander Nevski Cathedral (pictured) and be can reached on foot within walking distance in 10 minutes. In terms of transport links, a new metro station, named European Union station, was opened at the end of 2012 and is within 200m of the hotel. A further station is by the National Palace of Culture only 5 minutes walk away. The Central Railway Station is 1.5km away form the hotel and Sofia Airport can be reached in 15 minutes by car. The hotel is situated in a beautifully landscaped Yuzhen Park that has benefited from major investment from the Government in recent years and is very popular with local residents. 5
The Hilton Hotel Sofia was constructed in 2001 and is in an excellent condition throughout. The building is of modern steel framed construction with tinted windows and white panelled cladding, the main entrance features a fully glazed frontage that provides for a well-lit and bright reception area. The hotel also features a long walkway leading to the entrance. The decor in the public areas is stylish and contemporary. The hotel is laid out over 12 floors above ground and has a single basement level. There are 3 Food & Beverage outlets in the hotel, a fitness centre, 3 retail units and 65 car parking spaces in the basement. The hotel is fully air conditioned throughout. Guestrooms The standard rooms are decorated in cool, calm tones and have large soundproofed windows that provide for lots of natural daylight. All the standard guestrooms are very spacious, with an area of approximately 28 sq m. There are 54 executive rooms that are all located on the 7th and 8th oor. Some typical standard facilities in all the guestrooms include: air conditioning, bath slippers, bathrobe, black-out curtains, connecting rooms, separate bathtub and shower, TV (32 inch LCD HD), safe, coee maker, hairdryer, high speed internet access, iron/ironing board, lap desk, mini bar and telephone with video messaging. The hotel has 16 suites in total, 14 of which are located along the main corridor next to the lifts. There are two larger suites. The Park Executive suite has an area of 52 sq m and offers a living room, work area and Executive Lounge access with free breakfast and refreshments. Food and Beverage The Hilton Sofia has two main Food & Beverage facilities, both located at ground floor level. The hotel also includes a Club Executive Lounge for executive room and suite residents located on the mezzanine floor. The Seasons Restaurant is the main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner with 85 seats. The restaurant is open 7 days a week between 6.30 am and 11.30 pm and offers all day dining in a unique atmosphere. The restaurant has won a number of awards for international and Bulgarian cuisine and is the Hilton Sofia s signature restaurant with its new design concept and regular changes in the menu. An outdoor terrace is attached to the restaurant at the rear with a number of patio doors that lead out onto it. There are expansive views across the recently refurbished park and the terrace has the capacity for an additional 120 covers. The restaurant offers an unique dining experience for its guests and has plenty of potential to be developed in the future with its access to the park and potential for BBQ s, music and family events. The Artists Bar and Terrace is located on the ground floor fronting the entrance to the hotel and is accessed o the main reception area. This has gained a reputation as a meeting place for business people and offers a bright and informal atmosphere for gatherings. The bar is open seven days a week from 8 am to 2am. Meeting Facilities The Hilton Sofia offers a full range of meeting rooms suitable for the size and type of the hotel. As one of the few renowned international hotel brands in Sofia, it is extremely popular with businesses who use the facilities for meetings and events. The hotel s meeting facilities are comprised of 8 meeting rooms that are highly flexible and capable of being joined to form larger or small rooms. The largest room, the Moussala ballroom, being 276 sq m is capable of hosting larger events and weddings. Other Facilities The Hilton Sofia benefits from numerous other facilities including fitness center with over 300 sq m of space, and a heated indoor swimming pool.
