SARG has agreed the following measures with the organiser and airspace controlling authorities to accommodate the subject Unusual Aerial Activity. This ACN replaces ACN 2014-00-0088, which may now be destroyed. ACTIVITY 2. Calibration of Farnborough ILS Runway 24. DATES 3. This ACN is valid until further notice. TIMES 4. The calibration will take place at the following times: a. As required. Calibration may take up to 4 hours. VERTICAL LIMITS 5. The following vertical limits apply: a. Up to 3,000ft above aerodrome level. CO-ORDINATES OF AREA OR EVENT 6. The calibration will take place in the following area: a. An arc ± 35 each side of Runway 24 centreline to 17nm range b. OPERATING AUTHORITY OR SPONSOR 7. The following authorities will sponsor the calibration: a. Cobham Flight Inspection Ltd, Cobham Aviation Services, Bournemouth International Airport, Christchurch, Dorset. BH23 6NE Tel: 01202 409 111. Mob: 07887 868 568. CONTROL AUTHORITIES 8. The following agency will provide control for this event: a. Farnborough ATC Watch Manager Tel: 01252 526015. b. LTC (Swanwick) ATC Watch Supervisor, Tel: 02380 401100. c. Heathrow ATC Watch Manager Tel: 020 8750 2610. d. Pirbright Range Control AIRCRAFT Tel: 01483 798304/ 798474. 9. Beech King Air B200 or DA42 (Diamond). CO-ORDINATION ARRANGEMENTS 10. Operating Authority: a. ACN 2015-00-0088 must be quoted in all instances. b. To minimise the effect on Heathrow operations, the sponsor must endeavour to fly the calibration during the period that matches with the runway alternation pattern at Heathrow and avoids the expected times of high Heavy departures. c. Five working days before activating this ACN, the sponsor/aircraft captain must contact the following to discuss the implications of forthcoming sorties and agree timings: (1) Farnborough ATC Watch Manager: Tel: 01252 526015. (3) Heathrow Airport ATC Operations Office: Tel: 020 8750 2623 / 2624. d. On the day of calibration, the aircraft captain must telephone the Farnborough ATC Watch Manager, LTC (Swanwick) ATC Watch Supervisor, Heathrow ATC Watch Manager and Pirbright Range Control to discuss the tactical details. e. The aircraft must remain outside the London TMA, unless prior co-ordination has taken place and the aircraft receives a clearance to enter from the appropriate ATC agency. f. Heathrow SVFR will resolve any confliction between the calibration aircraft and other traffic within the London CTR. 11. ATC Authorities: a. ATC agencies are asked to provide priority handling whenever possible, but the sponsor/ aircraft captain must be prepared to accept deviations/ holds where necessary. b. Whilst within Controlled Airspace the aircraft will be afforded Category E priority in order to achieve the calibration. AERONAUTICAL PUBLICATIONS & NOTIFICATION 12. The following action will be taken: a. Airspace Regulation will not issue a NOTAM for this activity. b. This ACN replaces ACN 2014-00-0088 that can now be destroyed. 13. Pilots and ANSPs are to note that: a. The activity area lies within Controlled and Uncontrolled Airspace as well as airspace reserved for military use. Pilots are to thoroughly familiarise themselves with UK airspace structures and procedures, in particular those laid down within the UK Aeronautical Information Publication (UK AIP), ENR 1.1 and be fully conversant with UK Flight Information Services in accordance with UK CAP 493 (MATS Pt 1). b. The CAA VFR 1:500,000 and 1:250,000 charts and the UK AIP ENR 5 depict some, but not all aviation activity sites and amendments should also be checked. This ACN details specific coordination essential to the task taking place and does not remove the need for aircraft operators to comply with national flight planning and notification procedures. Pilots and ANSPs are required to ensure that all related aviation sites are aware of this planned activity and of subsequent changes not captured within this document. Page 3 of 5
