We had a great turn up of Club members and a few representatives from other Clubs. I suspect there may have been a bit of uncertainty by some visitors about the venue, keeping them away, and of course the NHMA did their absolute best to frighten at least 2 clubs away that usually participate with large numbers at our rallies. There was not a huge turn up by the public, but we had a steady flow of people all day. The camping venue was great and we found enough room for all the displays on the rally site. The Richmond Vale Club also enjoyed the day and we appear to be welcome back at any time. My Buzacott well and truly lived up to the name of our rally, but most people had a good run with their displays, and some great displays there were. At the next meeting (September) we will vote on whether we want to return to Richmond Vale next year and take suggestions for improvement from the floor. Shortly after this meeting a small delegation from the Club will meet with the Richmond Vale Club to discuss the good and where improvements could be made with the rally. We will also discuss a break up of funds, if any, at this time. Some of you may have heard that we had a potential insurance concern on the Tuesday before the rally. If you are unaware of this I suggest you have a look at the Club facebook site. At the NHMA meeting on the preceding Saturday the 13 th, a motion was passed that non-nhma Club members were not welcome at NHMA Club events for insurance reasons. This meant we could have had a problem with Mid-North Coast, Sydney and Campbell Town Steam Club members. I would like to make something absolutely clear about this. Until our Club receives some type of written information on this from the NHMA or our insurance broker, addressed to us, we do not need to make any changes. Further it does not affect us attending other Clubs events, including at the clubs listed above events, as far as I know. Therefore even if the new requirements are introduced, it will only create an issue if we host a further event and have members from the clubs listed above participating. I am sure we will need to discuss this in more detail at future Club meetings. I did some further chasing up about a prospective Club House, and did not do so well. I have not yet concluded discussions with the ARTC, regarding a property at Beresfield, and will update you all at the next meeting. If you didn t come to Richmond Vale for the Rally, you missed a good one. Scott Walking can add minutes to your life. Every time I start thinking too much about how I look, I just find a pub with a Happy Hour and by the time I leave, I look just fine.
