COB VETTE NEWS Since 1981 Volume, 37 Issue 4 Notes from the President Thank you, Debbie Schafer, for chairing the COB Dinner/Dance again this year. It was a great time for the members to socialize, enjoy a great meal and dance to music which brought us back to our younger days. Thank you to all the members who attended the recent COB Calendar of Events meeting held at Bill Gray's in Clarence. We prepared a list of cruises, shows, and special events which will make for an enjoyable cruising season. The list was prepared electronically and will be available via a group email as well as in the current newsletter. Our newsletter editor Dennis Buckley uses this as a guide for highlighting the events for each month in the newsletter. Thanks Skip for typing up the listing. I expect we will add even more events as information becomes available. I'm pleased to announce that new board member, Jim Decker has agreed to chair the Annual COB Picnic this year. Let's give him our support. I'm sure he will be looking for volunteers to help out with this event. See details elsewhere in the newsletter. Well, all that is left is for the weather to cooperate so we can finally get our rides on the road for the season. Hope to see you soon. Corvettes of Buffalo Members: Request for information I gave my Fuel Injection Book review at the April 2008 Corvettes of Buffalo meeting. There was a fellow there who said his father worked on the "Dies for the Fuel Injection Choke Cover" for RPD. Attached are photos of the April 2008 COB 2008 event. The fellow I'm searching for was sitting at left side way in the back probably just off the edge of the one photo. I have misplaced the "info" he gave me and I want to get the info in the re-write of the Fuel Injection book I'm almost finished with now. I would appreciate if this individual would reach out to me so we might reconnect and I could recover the information? Thanks, Ken Kayser kwkvette57@aol.com 9

1964 Corvette Restoration----Update #7 Last month I talked about putting my friend Steve's 1964 together after it was painted. If you look at the pictures it needed a new windshield and that stopped progress for a while. After the vender put the window in I could finish installing the chrome around the window frame. It is time to put the new stereo radio, speaker, clock, and glove box in the dash board. Steve also bought a power antenna that was to be the one for this car application. (wrong). After playing with it for 2 hours I decided to order the factory stock one, that worked fine. I also had trouble installing the new radio and speaker because they were bigger then the stock and I had less room to work with. The radio works great, and I ran wire to the back of the car for rear speakers, before the rugs were installed. The clock was now put in place and it works. I next put the glove box in place, but the light inside didn't work, so I had enough fun that day. Two days later I pulled the glove box out and fixed the problem, now everything works on the dash board. The biggest problem working on this car was, someone took it apart in 1978 and lost all the screws and a lot of inside hardware, Check the pictures to see how the dash board is now together. This car came with a hard and convertible top, so we put the hard top on first to fit the door windows to it. When the convertible is installed we will fit it to the door windows, so both tops will seal properly. The next article will be about installing the rugs and finishing the interior. NCCC Corner --- News & Views http://www.corvettesnccc.org/northeast/index.htm I recently was elected to the NCCC Sergeant at Arms position. As I am learning my new duties and, also because I cannot hold two positions, Matt Behr has expressed an interest in the [NE RMD] Regional Member Director, role. With both these positions, one of the criterions is attending the quarterly meetings in St Louis. Please welcome Matt as he will be involved with the NCCC membership renewals. He will be working with our governor, Jim Brett and our treasurer, Marianne Pastore, along with the other clubs in our region. Thank you for your support and as always, Save the Wave! 2018 COB Dinner Dance We had 55 cob members in attendance. It was a nice time out with our cob friends. Special thanks to Ken and Cheryl Bushley; they came an hour early and helped with the set ups. Thank you also to Skip and Maureen Polowy, also for lending a helping hand. Raynee Iraci and Jim Decker were the winners of the jelly bean count of exactly 100 jelly beans. (Sorry Matt, the jelly beans weren't for you to eat! lol) Next year, I would like to work with someone who has an interest in running the next COB dinner dance. Thank you.
