A CIDC delegation led by Dr Satya Pandey (Mayor, Gorakhpur) and comprising of senior officers from CIDC, and members of enlisted companies from CIDC Construction Industry Database travelled to Chengdu, China for attending the 2014 Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (Chengdu) Development Forum from 30th Oct 14 to 1st Nov 2014. The Council s initiatives were presented to the audience and information exchanged for exploring partnerships and joint initiatives for fostering bilateral activities. Meetings were held between senior officials of Chengdu Municipal Corporation and Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation for exploring opportunities for Gorakhpur and Chengdu becoming sister cities. Besides meeting were also held with Sichuan Provincial Chamber of Commerce, Chengdu based trade associations, industry bodies, and corporates for discussing areas of mutual cooperation especially in the energy sector. bc India - A BAUMA CONEXPO SHOW, December 15-18, 2014, India Expo Centre, Great Noida / Delhi -CIDC has partnered with Bauma for this event and will be putting up a stall at the event where on the spot Testing and Certification of construction workers will be undertaken at a discounted rate of Rs. 1510/- per candidate. The event will be held from 15-18th December 2014 and along with the exhibition stall, there will be 3 presentations made by Shri Ashutosh Bhardwja and Shri Rajeev Jain during the parallel conference being organized by the organizers. Testing & Certification of Construction Workers engaged on Central Public Works Department (CPWD) Sites under GCC Clause 19K The Phase III of the program is underway and T&C has been conducted in Mathura, IIT Gandhinagar IIT and other places. The program has now been rolled out in the Southern Region and the inaugural camp was held at Guindy, Chennai on 4th Dec 2014. All projects with an outhlay of Rs. 5 cr and above in the region have been identified and T&C Camps will be held there during this financial year. Indonesia: A high powered business delegation from Government of Indonesia, Ministry of Public Works, Construction Competency and Training Development Centre visited Vishwakarma Pratham, the CIDC Corporate training hub on 26th Nov 2014 comprising of the following dignitaries. 1. The main objective of the visit was to interact with CIDC team to understand how to provide quality training in various construction trades. While on the tour of the facility, the delegation members interacted with students, trainers and had a feel of the hands on training underway. They interacted with senior officials of CIDC and discussed the possibility of collaboration for bilateral activities to strengthen each other s training eco system. The delegation members expressed satisfaction on the levels of training being provided and lauded the CSR initiatives of the council where they are helping major PSUs & Corporates achieve their CSR targets. Dr. Ir. Masrianto, MT (Director of Construction Competency and Training Development Centre) and head of the delegation expressed his strong desire to work closely with CIDC in the future and marked out Training of Trainers as one area where they will seek CIDC s expertise. In the past, CIDC trainers had travelled to Jakarta to impart such training in 2004. More pictures from China below P a g e 4

CIDC handed over CDP to Hon ble Mayor, Gorakhpur : CIDC has signed MOU with Nagar Nigam, Gorakhpur on 3 rd Sept 2014 with intent to facilitate development of the Physical Infrastructure of Gorakhpur city. To initiate any development process, it is essential to develop a City Development Plan (CDP) for the city. CIDC first took the opinions and studied the need of city and then prepared a draft copy of the CDP. After taking views and feedbacks on this draft copy from public, officers, engineers and public representatives the final CDP has been prepared. The CDP has covered the scope of solid waste management, potable water management, sewerage system management, storm water drainage, town planning and management of utilities, electricity, human resource and skilling initiatives, procurement of project related activities, road and transport, basic services to urban poor and other requirements for the Gorakhpur city. A year wise matrix of investments has been prepared and the total estimated required fund for next three years is Rs 6,500.00 Cr. The final CDP was handed over to the Hon ble Mayor, Gorakhpur by Dr P R Swarup, Director Genaral, CIDC on 6 th Nov 2014 in the office of Hon ble Mayor. Sh Rajesh Jaiswal, Councellor, Sh Ravindra Nishad, Councellor, Sh Ramesh Gupta, Councellor, Sh Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, Municipal Commissioner, Sh Ravish Chandra, Chief Tax Officer, Sh S K Kesari, Chief Enginner, Sh Brajesh Singh. AO, Sh P K Mishra, Additional Director, Ms Mamta Pandey, Manager (Projects) were present at the occasion. Dr Satya Pandey, Hon ble Mayor, Gorakhpur extended her thanks to Dr P R Swarup to prepare such a valuable plan in very short time. Yog Shivir in CIDC Gorakhpur Center: A yoga shivir was organized at CIDC Gorakhpur center on 10 to 13 th Nov 2014 in the presence of Sh Rana Pratap Singh, Yoga Therapist in S Vyasa University, Bangalore. Sh Singh taught life changing yoga techniques to the trainees and staff of CIDC. The dignitaries of Gorakhpur city like Er Shashi Bhushan, Chairman, VIET, Er Ravi Rai, President, Apna Ghar, Dr Prashant Mishra, MD also participated the shivir and interacted with trainees and staff. Fire Safety and Fire Fighting Training: CIDC organized a fire safety and fire fighting training program in the Gorakhpur on 14 th Nov 2014. All staff members and trainees were participated in the program. To train the trainees, a live fire fighting techniques were presented in the supervision of senior level fire experts. Bhoomi Pujan and Starting of Construction of Toilets: CIDC has started construction of toilets for girl students in the schools having not the separate toilets for girls. Construction of toilets sponsored by The J.H. Tarapore Foundation, Chennai was formally started in Gorakhpur on 21 st Nov 2014. The starting of construction and bhumi pujan was done by Dr Satya Pandey, Hon ble Mayor, Gorakhpur in Govt Primary School, Hata, Harsewakpur, Gorakhpur. Sh Arjun Nishad, Pradhan, Harsewakpur, Sh Sujit Kumar, Councellor, Smt Alpana Pandey, Head Mistress, other staff, students and dignitaries were present on the occasion. CIDC, Gorakhpur center distributed study materials to the students of primary school on the occasion. NRIs Visit to CIDC Training Center: Sh A N Tiwari, Executive Director, Upasana International, Thailand with other Non-Resident Indians visited CIDC training center, Gorakhpur on 26 th Nov 2014. Dr P R Swarup, DG, CIDC and other dignitaries were present during the visit. Sh A N Tiwari in his interaction with trainees, motivated them to take training enthusiastically and inform them the opportunities available in overseas. Sh A. N. Interaction with NRIs and VIET students: VIET, Partner Institute of CIDC, organized an interaction program with NRIs on 26 th Nov 2014. Sh A N Tiwari with other NRIs and Dr P. R. Swarup, DG, CIDC visited VIET, Gorakhpur. During the interaction program, the dignitaries addressed the students and ask them to avail the job opportunities available in overseas. Training & Placement Activities Training: Oil India Limited. In first phase we have completed the target of 500 candidates in the month of November, 2014. In the second phase during the year 2014-15 we have to trained 750 candidates Skill Training & Placement of young people from OIL s operational areas under CSR scheme. In addition to Dibrugarh & Tinsukia we have allotted the below mentioned areas of Changlang District, A.P where OIL is having its operations. Kumchai, Diyun, Bordumsa Status Report: (FY-2014-15) in the second phase out of 750 candidates we have registered 150 candidates and their training have been started in five CIDC centers are VKP Faridabad (Haryana) Odisha, Ghaziabad, Amethi (UP) and Gorakhpur (U.P.). The project under well in progress and our target of November, 2014 to cover up another 70-80 candidates. Training : Department of Industries Govt. of Jharkhand, Ranchi- MoU signed on 13 th July, 2013 For Skill development of human resources and placement of youth in the construction sector, for target of training 5000 youth per year and placing 75% of them during the year 2013-14. As on date 215 candidates have been enrolled at our Daltonganj training centre, and 96 candidates have been placed in Sobha Developer, Bangalore, As on date 212 candidates have been enrolled at our Ranchi training centre, and 74 candidates have been placed in Sobha Developer at Bangalore. The Jharkhand Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board Government of Jharkhand- MoU signed on 03 rd February, 2014. For Skill development of human resources and placement of youth in the construction sector, CIDC will train a total number of 1000 trainees per year initially for the year 2013-14 the stipulated target will be 200 trainees. As on date 116 candidates have been registered and 110 candidates have been placed as on job training at Kashish Developers Ltd project site at Ranchi. Aggarwal Associates & Promoters Pvt. Ltd both the companies took interviews for GWS, Land Surveyor, Site Accountant and BMLT trades, result awaited. Now we are organizing placement at our 5 centres on 22 nd December, 2014, on following centres VKP Faridabad, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Jharkhand and Amethi.

Testing & Certification: we have done T&C with M/s Bygging India Limited for 10 Electricians and 23 Winch Operators, and regular touch with them for further Testing & Certifications. Executive Development Programs: CIDC has organized EDP In-House Training for Junior Engineers and Road Roller Operators with M/s Oil India Limited at Duliajan on 27-10-2014 to 31-10-2014. 20th Asia Construct Conference held in Hong Kong during 13 14 November, 2014. The Hong Kong polytechnic University has organized the 20 th Asia Conference this year, from 13 th to 14 th Nov, 2014. Being the member country, Sh. Deepak Mazumdar, Sr. Additional Director, represented as speaker from Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC). The main purpose of being present in the Conference was to present the country report presentation, theme paper of the conference and to disseminate the information about CIDC in order to identify the business opportunities. Director, has participated in the event on behalf of Construction Industry Development Council. Highlights Presented country report & theme paper. Met all the delegates of the conference and disseminated the information about CIDC among Ministry of Construction all the department & various Local Governments. Interactions were made with the Government Departments and various Local Governments on 13 th Nov, 2014, and during the conference. During the interactions various business opportunities & associations for CIDC was identified. Discussions were also revolved around the HRD initiatives made by the CIDC and the delegates were also introduced to the training of manpower, placement for the trained manpower, internship of Engineering student and organizing EDPs for the senior managements. The delegates were also informed about the grading of contractors and were encouraged for the grading of their entities. They were also highlighted about the IQAC works and construction quality rating. P a g e 10 The purpose of conducting the conference was to encourage Foreign Direct Investment from all the member countries for Real Sector in Hong Kong. Overall, five days spent at the Conference were good experience and it was decided that the 21 st Asia Construct Conference will be hosted at Koria sometimes in November-December and the 22 nd & 23 rd at Japan and Australia respectively. Overall 100 delegates were present at and during the conference out of which 40 were the foreign delegates. CIDC- Training activities 1. Under CIDC-HUDCO Training program, batch of 60 candidates in the trade of General Works Supervisor and Electrician at Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) has concluded on 5 th Dec, 2014. 2. Under TNSDM training program, 2994 nos. of candidates have been trained and another 91 candidates are under training. 3. Under self-financing program 08 candidates in the trade of land Survey are getting training at CIDC Ghaziabad Centre. 4. Under CIDC-OIL Program, 30 candidates (11 in the trade of General Works Supervisors, 05 candidates in the trade of Land Surveyor and 14 candidates in the trade of Electrician) are getting training at CIDC Ghaziabad training Centre. 5. Under CIDC-HUDCO training program, a batch of 60 candidates (30 in the trade of Electrician and 30 in the trade of General Works supervisor) at Chhoti Sadri, Pratapgarh Rajasthan has been concluded on 30 th Nov, 2014. Training of Artisan staff plumber under South Central Railways has been conducted at Zonal Civil Engineering Training Centre, Kachiguda, Secunderabad with effect from 17.11.2014 to 29.11.2014 and 24 candidates participated in this program. 9. On every Saturday first half all trainees along with trainer and staff including Director also clean the surrounding area of institute Swachhta Abhiyan. CIDC along with Singhania University, Rajasthan had initiated Diploma/B.Tech & a wide range of CIDC training programs for all levels of aspirant candidates.
