OAN 07 / 2018 MAN-TP AIRSIDE SURVEYS OAN REF:- 07/2018 DATE OF ISSUE:- 19/01/18 EFFECTIVE DATE:- 28/01/18 MANUAL REFERENCE(S):- N A EXPIRY DATE:- 30/03/18 PLEASE ENSURE THIS INFORMATION IS PROMULGATED TO ALL STAFF 1.0 SUMMARY In advance of works to construct the new Taxiway Echo, a series of surveys will take place which require stands and taxiways to be temporarily closed or restricted over a 7-week programme. 2.0 PROGRAMME 2.1. Overall: Sunday 28th January 2018 to Friday 30 th March 2018. Working hours Sunday to Thursday night s 2230-0600 hours (local). 2.2 Works in individual areas are to be determined on a shift-by-shift basis within the overall programme. Sufficient taxiways and stands will at all times be kept available in order to maintain the flying programme. 3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS 3.1 The survey works are required along the length of the proposed Taxiway Echo, through the B1D substation island and extending south as far as Taxiway Kilo. The survey area is divided into 3 regions to limit the concurrent operational impact and to ease planning. 3.1.1 The areas are generally bounded by taxiway strips and the edges of stands. 3.2 The scope of works is: Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey of all areas. Topographical survey Digging small trial pits and taking window samples to examine ground conditions at depth. 4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS 4.1 Stand Closures and restrictions OAN 07/2018 PAGE 1 OF 9
4.1.1 It is unlikely that any stands will be required to close for this work. If closures are required it will be for the duration of the night shift only, and will returned to service by 0600 hours. 4.2 Taxiway closures and restrictions 4.2.1 Sections of Taxiways Alpha, Bravo, Charlie Delta, Kilo and Lima will be closed individually for several overnight shifts, returning to service by 0600 hours. 4.2.2. Access to stands served from closed taxiways will not generally be available and therefore arrangements will be made for aircraft arriving before the start of works to be parked at these stands for the duration of the night. 5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO) 5.1 The works will have no effect on Low Visibility Procedures. No access to Stands 61 and 62 and the Western Maintenance Area (Faireys) during working hours unless the works party is able to withdraw under direction of Airfield Operations. N.B.
