The ranking elaborated by ONU-Habitat México, recognized Zapopan as the municipality with the best Urban Prosperity Index (CPI), placing it in fourth place among 136 national municipalities studied and above the national average. FOREIGN TRADE Zapopan is the principal export municipality of the state of Jalisco In foreign trade, Zapopan s strategy is to attract investment and promote the export of goods produced in the municipality. Regarding to the year 2016, exports total in the municipality (information by INEGI) were $12,983.77 million dollars, and showed a positive balance of trade of $5,622.14 million dollars. Zapopan exports mainly to the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sweden and Canada.
