Planned Tentative Itinerary Saturday, January 16, 2016 - Depart Vancouver Day 1 August 13, 2018: Depart North America Overnight flight from North America (meals on flight). Day 2 August 14, 2018: Arrive in Katowice, Częstochowa Welcome to Poland! Arrival in Katowice, just south of Częstochowa. Transfer to hotel for checkin. Evening prayers at the monastery of Jasna Góra, the most famous Marian shrine in Poland. Witness the evening celebration of the closing of the miraculous icon of the Black Madonna. A place of grace and miracles. Dinner and overnight in Częstochowa. (D) Day 3 August 15, 2018: Częstochowa Spend the day at the monastery of Jasna Góra, founded in 1382 by Pauline monks. Get to know this unique place of pilgrimage, immersed in history and spirituality. Experience the celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption at this immensely important Marian centre in the Catholic world. Dinner and overnight in Częstochowa. (B, D) Day 4 August 16, 2018: Częstochowa, Warsaw Enjoy the picturesque journey to Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. Tour the historic city center with a private guide. Admire the Old Town with its churches and squares. Check-into hotel. Optional Chopin piano recital (by a Polish virtuoso pianist), at one of the city's historic palaces (extra cost). Dinner in an authentic restaurant and overnight in Warsaw. (B, D) Day 5 August 17, 2018: Warsaw, Swinice Warckie, Glogowiec, Plock This morning we depart for a drive through the countryside to Swinice Warckie for a guided tour of the parish church in Swince where St. Faustina grew up. Visit her family home in the village of Glogowiec. Guided visit of the monastery of St. Faustina at Plock, where the young nun experienced her first miraculous visions of Christ. Dinner and overnight in Warsaw. (B, D) Day 6 August 18, 2018: Warsaw, Wrocław Visit to Wrocław in Silesia. At the end of World War II, the city was virtually destroyed during a three month siege known as the Siege of Breslau. Private local guide to tour the historic city center, including the historic cathedral and Second World War history. Check-in to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Wrocław. (B, D) Day 7 August 19, 2018: Wrocław, Swidnica, Legnica, Prague Scenic drive to Swidnica. Guided visit of the timber-framed Churches of Peace, built after the Peace of Westphalia of 1648, today UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Next we journey to Legnica, to visit the church of St. Jacek. Arrival in Prague, a city preserved in time, spared the horrific bombings of the Second World War. Check-in to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Prague. (B, D) Day 8 August 20, 2018: Prague Welcome to Prague, a city of cultural attractions. Meet with local guide for private sightseeing tour of the historic downtown, including Prague Castle, Jewish Quarter, the Our Lady of Victory chapel and the famous Holy Infant Jesus of Prague statue on Golden Street. Dinner in typical local beer hall restaurant and overnight in Prague. (B, D). Day 9 August 21, 2018: Prague, Kraków Country drive through Moravia, back to Poland. Lunch stop in a country village. Arrival in one of the world's great Catholic cities, Kraków. A typical local dinner with Polish specialties and overnight in Kraków. (B, D)

Day 10 August 22, 2018: Kraków Morning sightseeing with a private guide including: the famous Wawel Cathedral, Old Town, the Jewish Quarter known as "Kazimierz" and the Schindler Factory from the Second World War. Afternoon guided visit to the Divine Mercy Shrine at Lagiewniki, where St. Faustina lived and died. Visit the newly built Have No Fear! John Paul II Centre, that contains the cassock he wore the day he was shot on May 13, 1981. Dinner at local restaurant with optional Polish folklore show and overnight in Kraków. (B, D) Day 11 August 23,2018: Kraków, Auschwitz, Wadowice Guided tour of the notorious Second World War death camp, Auschwitz. Visit the museum. Walk through the camp. See the room where St. Maximillian Kolbe died in cell 21, block 11. Transfer to Wadowice, birthplace of St. John Paul II. See the home where he was born and spent his youth and pray in the church next door where he was baptized. Dinner at typical Jewish restaurant with traditional Klezmer music concert and overnight in Kraków. (B, D) Day 12 August 24,2018: Kraków, Dunajec River, Zakopane Drive through the Tatra mountains where St. John Paul II was fond of camping and skiing. Optional rafting ride on the Dunajec River, one of Poland s largest outdoor attractions. Arrival at resort town of Zakopane, where skiing is popular. Lunch in a typical alpine hut with live music and highlander folklore show. Guided tour of the village. See the Our Lady of Fatima church built by the alpine locals, in thanksgiving for the life of St. John Paul II having been spared in light of the 1981 assassination attempt on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Dinner on our own and overnight in Kraków. (B, L) Day 13 August 25,2018: Kraków, Nowa Huta Visit the historic Nowa Huta, a suburb built by the Soviets to be a showpiece for Stalinism. See the controversial church built by the workers in defiance of the Communist authorities, consecrated by the future St. John Paul II when he was the local Archbishop. Afternoon is free for rest, relaxation or exploring on your own. Optional visit to the famed Wieliczka Salt Mines, an UNESCO World Heritage Site (extra cost). Dinner at a popular Old Town restaurant with Polish cuisine and overnight in Kraków. (B, D) Day 14 August 26, 2018: Kraków, Częstochowa Day trip to Częstochowa for the magnificent celebrations of the patronal feast day of the Black Madonna. Witness history as the nation comes to pay homage to Our Lady on her special feast day with a day full of celebrations. Farewell dinner at a traditional Old Town restaurant and overnight in Kraków. I agree that any dispute concerning, relating, or referring to this contract, the brochure or any other literature converging my trip, or the trip itself, shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration according to the then existing rules of the Province of British Columbia. CANCELLATION POLICY: A notice of cancellation must be received in writing. Penalties will be to the fax, e-mail, or postmark date. For cancellation after the June 15, 2018 deadline, cancellation fee of 100% of the total price. Cancellation protection travel insurance is highly recommended and can be purchased at time of deposit. TERMS AND CONDITIONS PASSPORT: A valid passport is required for this tour and must be in your possession at all times during the tour. If you do not have a passport, apply immediately as the process can entail a long wait. Remember to check the expiration date of your passport before booking (certain countries require a minimum of six months passport validity from the return date of your trip). At the time of reservation, OC-Travel requires a copy of the inside page of your passport (showing your name and photo). AIRFARE: Your airfare is NOT included in the price. This is NOT an air inclusive tour package. Your airfare is a separate cost. This way you are able to secure your own preferred air arrangements and seating. AIRPORT TRANSFERS: If you miss the group at the agreed meeting point and time, land-only travelers are responsible for the cost and arranging for their transfers to and from the airport. TRAVEL INSURANCE: OC-Travel highly recommends the purchase of cancellation insurance. OC- Travel is not responsible for any loss incurred by the traveler due to a cancelled flight or other means of transportation. Please investigate purchasing travel insurance to cover any type of loss associated with cancelled air or other transportation. Because of changes in local schedules, we may need to alter specified events, dates, or venues, to better fit the overall plan. For most airlines, the one checked bag is limited to 50 pounds and 62 inches (length + width + height). You may also bring a small carry-on bag that will fit under or above your airline seat and later in the coach bus. You must be able to carry your own luggage. We recommend luggage on wheels. DRESS CODE: Our journeys focus on the needs of our faith-based travelers. In visiting world famous spiritual sites, take note - there is often a dress code. Covering of knees and shoulders is required. Appropriate attire is requested at religious sites. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: This tour includes a significant amount of walking. Moderate physical activity is expected on a walking tour. This includes stairs and uneven walking surfaces. Motor coaches are often not permitted to pick up or drop off in front of major attractions. Some of the most unique sightseeing includes accessing locations that restrict motor coaches, especially in historic city centres. Bring appropriate walking shoes. Travelers must be medically and physically fit. The tour is not wheelchair accessible. PARTICIPATION: OC-Travel services reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any participant on any of its tours if, in its sole discretion, it deems any such participant as being detrimental to the tour and the well-being of the other travelers.
