List of Intergovernmental Organizations accredited as observers to International Conference on the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (Barbados Conference) The General Assembly in its resolution 47/189 on convening of a global conference on the sustainable development of small island developing states requested the Secretary-General to invite to the Conference those listed in paragraph 9 of General Assembly resolution 46/168. The General Assembly in its resolution 46/168 on the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (paragraph 9 (b) requested the Secretary-general to invite to the Conference representatives of organizations that have received a standing invitation from the General Assembly to participate, in the capacity as observers, in the sessions and work of all international conferences convened under its auspices. Therefore, no IGOs were accredited on an ad hoc basis.
