She was too excited about her hot air balloon ride the next day. It was a birthday present from her family. They knew it was something she had always wanted to do. 2 Early Sunday morning, Mia started to get ready to go. It was getting late so she ate her breakfast in a hurry. She knew that it was going to be a cold morning. 6 They finally got to the place where the hot air balloon would be taking off. The pilot was blowing hot air into this big, colorful balloon. All of a sudden, the balloon became huge. It was as big as a planet. The morning light shown bright and it was a beautiful day for a ride. 7 This is going to be the best day of my life, said Mia to her family. 8 You picked a perfect day to go up in the sky. The wind is calm and the sun is out. Also the leaves are changing colors. What a day! the pilot said happily. 9 It was time to get into the big basket with the pilot. Mia s big sister, mom, and grandma went up with her. Off they went high into the sky. Mia was a little

scared at first. Her mom held her hand and soon she felt better. 10 There were so many things that they could see being so high up in the air. Everything on the ground looked like ants.
