We will be visiting Planned itinerary Day 1 Flight from UK Afternoon: Walking architecture tour of Berlin Evening meal in accommodation Evening: Visit Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate Day 2 Breakfast in accommodation Morning: Visit to Bauhaus Museum Afternoon: Visit to Jewish Museum and the Architectural Observations tour Evening meal in accommodation Day 3 Breakfast in accommodation Morning: visit Technikmuseum a museum covering centuries of technology right up to the present day Have lunch around Checkpoint Charlie Afternoon: visit Fassbender and explore surrounding area Day 4 Breakfast in accommodation and check out Morning: take public transport to Alexanderplatz and visit TV Tower and finish off shopping Collect luggage and transfer to airport

Travel Arrangements Departure: Please meet at Varndean school at 5.35am. We depart at 6.00am Return: We land at 19.30 am- students will be returning to Brighton train station around 20.30 pm so will need collecting from the station

You can carry liquids within your cabin baggage as long as they are stored in containers no bigger than 100ml and are carried in a clear, re-sealable plastic bag with maximum dimensions of 20 x 20cms. Each passenger can carry a maximum of 1000ml (e.g. 10 x 100ml). Accommodation A&O Berlin Hauptbahnhof Lehrter Straße 12 Germany - 10557 Berlin All Varndean pupils will be located in the same part of the building, with teachers, away from other guests. You will need to bring your own towel- or you can rent them for one euro

Behaviour You will need to behave while on the trip, ALCOHOL: No alcohol is to be bought or consumed by any student. SMOKING: Smoking is prohibited on this trip. PURCHASE OF ILLEGAL ITEMS: items such as knives and bangers, STUDENT SAFETY ON TOUR: Stay in your designated group unless instructed Please give your mobile numbers to your group leader When out, never go anywhere on your own or without letting someone know where you are going All students will be given a contact number for a member of staff. There may be short periods where students are permitted to go off on their own with a meeting point arranged. Pupils should stay in their rooms after lights out unless there is an emergency. Pupils should not tell strangers where they are staying whilst they are abroad. Pupils should remain seated on the plane and use the seat belts. Pupils should remember that they are representing Varndean and the UK abroad. Pupils should use pedestrian crossing points at all times and stay alert remembering that traffic will be coming from the opposite direction. Pupils need to be VERY aware when using public transport in Germany

Medication All medicines must be in their original container and clearly marked with the child s name. Please inform us of any new medication your child is on, we will assume they can selfmedicate unless told! Please send students with paracetamol/piriton etc. as we can not issue it PLEASE tell us if your child has been ill in the run up to the trip!

Pocket Money Pupils should bring approximately 50-60 worth of Euros with them. We have got half board accommodation so students will need some money for lunch, it would also be advisable for pupils to have some money to buy a snack/drink for the journey home Pupil s will need a packed lunch for the first day

Kit Comfortable and sturdy shoes, boots or trainers for walking Flip Flops- only for use in hotel there can be a lot of walking during the day Umbrella/Waterproof jacket Sun cream and after sun Comfortable clothes for warm weather and mild weather Day rucksack or bag Water bottle Towel/money to hire one

If pupils bring an ipod or a mobile phone they will be doing so at their own risk and they will be wholly responsible for it. These items should only be used on the journey and at the hotel. Please note that the Hotel doesn t hold any responsibility for any lost items and there are no safe boxes at the Hotel. Note book and pen. Phrase book/dictionary.

Just to warn students- there will be a German link, so you will be expected to speak some German and complete activities in German!
