Populace Meetings Populace Meetings are normally the second Wednesday of each month with occasional exceptions due to conflicting events or meeting location changes. We welcome all populace members to come to the monthly meetings to share ideas, discuss projects, plan events, and stay up to date on the happenings in the barony. If you have a desire to get more involved in the barony, but you aren t sure how to go about it, we encourage you to come and listen in to learn more about volunteering opportunities. January Location: Ward 6 City Council Office (corner of 22nd St and Alvernon) 1100 S Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ 85711 At 7:00 PM 3

From their Excellencies Good Greetings to the Gentle Populace of Tir Ysgithr in this, the dawn of the New Year! We, Sim and Magdalen, do wish to thank you for a wonderful first nine months allowing us to serve you, the Barony and our Kingdom. This New Year brings with it such promise and we hope for all of you Prosperity and Good Fortune. As our Twelfth Night Season winds down, our thoughts turn to War...ESTRELLA WAR! In its Glorious 31st year, Estrella War brings with it many great diversions and grand opportunities for our fair Gem to shine! Please remember to Preregister for Estrella by January 25th so that you may be given enough land for your camping comfort. We need to have the numbers in by that date so that the war Land Coordinator is able to allot our Baronial groups camping land. Our Baronial Land Coordinator is Lord Robert Heinrich - look for his posts coming soon. We will again host a Baronial encampment much like we did at Southern Crusades for those individuals or small groups who are not camping within a specific household. Please feel free to contact Simon or myself and we will set aside space for you - BUT you must Preregister. 4

The last bit for Estrella we would like you all to keep in the forefront: TRM Brian and Lia wish to see each Barony display its own unique brand of pageantry. So, Bring out your Boars! And Your Lamps, Tantonys and the Mighty Shield Wall! Let's show the Known World what it means to be Tir Ystighr. Wear your finest, shine up your weapons and as Count Sir Thomas is known to say - Don't get beat down by dukes! We also wish to remind you all to keep those award recommendations coming in! There are so many members of our populace who are deserving of recognition and we need your help in making sure they are all seen and heard and appreciated within our Piggy- Piles! We think the world of all of you! Fight Onward, Tir Ystithr! Baron Baroness 5

For those who may not have heard of Rett Syndrome here is a brief description of this syndrome and how it affects these Angels. Rett Syndrome is a severe neurological disorder the primarily affects girls. Rett Syndrome is the most physically disabling of the autism spectrum disorders. Rett Syndrome is caused by a mutation in the gene MECP2 a protein that regulates the expression of other genes by turning them off at the appropriate time. The mutation is spontaneous and the effects are seen in early childhood between 6 to 18 months of age. The disorder destroys speech, movement, and functional hand use. Many children lose the ability to walk, they struggle daily with severe seizures, scoliosis, breathing abnormalities, and often the child becomes dependent on others for a lifetime of care. These children s normal life expectancy is to the age of 14 to 17. Site: 4146 W Banff, Phoenix, AZ 85053 Site will open at 9 am, the site is wet. Pets must be leashed at all times. SABLE KNIGHT January 31, 2015 Himmel Park College of St. Felix Upon the frigid winds of January, the college of saint Felix struggles not only with financial woes and unlearned duties of post, but the looming shadow of Sir Sable. That dastardly tyrant has promised revenge for his past shortcomings and has thwarted our meager attempts to protect our near empty coffers! Hence, the Greek brethren have offered to provide extra protection from the black masked fiend for our celebration of this great Barony. Come watch as our new members struggle over a quill and nervously bow at anything that moves. The more the merrier! Sir Sable wouldn't dare show himself this year with our barony beside us! We request that those who are able both rapier and hard suit come and fight for glory and to keep our college free from the oppressive shackles of debt! Bid on the picnic baskets and compete in our Arts and Sciences competition. Donate your items and baskets today to be included in the auction or on the prize table. Any and all support is welcome!
